Cybersecurity Awareness Month advice covers the devices you use every day. The forgotten security step is the old drives in the storage closet.
And right now, every one of them is worth $1 to local veterans.

Quick question for offices in Roswell, Artesia, Carlsbad, Hobbs and Lovington: what's in your storage closet? Old desktops? A box of laptops from the last upgrade? A server nobody's turned on in years?

The drives inside still hold whatever was saved on them. Through Dec 15, every drive booked or picked up means $1 for Southeast New Mexico Veterans Transportation. You also get a Certificate of Destruction listing each drive's make and serial number.

Tell us in the comments: what's the oldest thing in your closet?

Call (575) 347-4733 to book or schedule your pickup.

This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, every old drive you get rid of the right way sends $1 to local veterans.
Here's why our $1-per-drive donation goes to Southeast New Mexico Veterans Transportation:

They give veterans free rides to and from medical appointments, in New Mexico and West Texas. Their vans are based in Roswell, Artesia and Carlsbad. They receive no government funding; they run on grants and donations from local businesses and individuals.

We're veteran-owned and operated. Out here, a medical appointment can be a long drive away, and a reliable ride matters.

Through December 15, every drive booked or picked up means $1 for them. It starts with one drive, and there's no cap.

If you know a veteran who could use a ride to an appointment, share this so they know the service exists.

Call (575) 347-4733 to book or schedule your pickup.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month poll for Southeast New Mexico: how many old phones, laptops or hard drives are hiding in your house or office? Each one is worth $1 to local veterans through Dec 15.

🅰 Zero. I'm a minimalist.
🅱 One or two.
🅲 Three to five.
🅳 I'm afraid to count.

Here's the good news: getting rid of them the right way is one of the simplest security moves there is, and through Dec 15 every one you book or schedule for pickup means $1 for Southeast New Mexico Veterans Transportation. Vote, or tell us your number in the comments.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and one of the simplest security moves you can make is getting rid of old hard drives the right way.
Starting today, it also supports veterans: through Tuesday, December 15, Shred Boss donates $1 to Southeast New Mexico Veterans Transportation for every drive booked or picked up.

Hard drives, SSDs, phones, tablets, USB drives: they all count. It starts with one drive, and there's no cap. Southeast New Mexico Veterans Transportation gives veterans free rides to and from their medical appointments, so your old drives can help keep those rides going.

How it works: we collect your drives, log each one by make and serial number (plus how, who and when it's destroyed), shred them, and give you a Certificate of Destruction. Pickup is easiest; drop-off and mobile service are available too.

Roswell, Artesia, Carlsbad, Lovington, Hobbs, Clovis, Portales, Ruidoso: if there's a drawer of old drives in your house or office, now's the time.

Know someone with a closet full of old computers? Share this with them.

Call (575) 347-4733 to book or schedule your pickup.
