gsi gemological services is a unique company, serving the Jewelry industry since 1971. We perform appraisals of Diamonds, Precious Gems, Pearls, Gold, Platinum, Sterling Silver, Fine Watches, Clocks and Collectibles. Our company performs over 5,000 appraisals annually. Our experiences have ranged from working with major De Beers syndicated prime Diamond dealers to appraisers, and estate buyers on

the famous "Worth avenue" of the Palm Beaches of Florida. We have represented upscale companies such as Black Starr and Frost and Mayors, to major gem importers International Gemstones. We currently perform independent appraisals for several retail organizations in the greater Atlanta, Georgia area such as Swiss Watch and Clock and The Board of Trade in Roswell, Diamond brokers in Buckhead, and Frank Kunkle and Son in Dawsonville too name a few. We perform both retail insurance appraisals and estate valuations while you wait in full eye view with the latest state of the art gemological equipment. We appraise for and work as expert witness for the U.S. Secret Service as well as the Fulton County Justice system. We are also available to perform our appraisal services in the privacy and security of your home, office, or bank. We look forward to providing you an "Antique road show" type experience, rarely available today in this fast paced era!….We pride ourselves on not only providing you with accurate identifications and values of your articles, but an in depth knowledge of their history and fabrication as well! Chrysoberyl (aka Alexandrite) is a rare transparent to translucent gemstone that changes color. In natural day light fine qualities of the material are a Green to Bluish-green color and changes to Red to Purplish-red under incandescent light. Originally discovered in the Ural Mountains in Russia in the late 1700 to mid-1800's and was named to honor the future Tsar Alexander II of Russia. Alexandrite has also been found in Brazil which is home to May's birthstone Emerald, Alexandrite's sister stone! Alexandrite is one of the rarest gemstones in the world!
