🚔 **Security + Investigations: A Different Approach**

There are plenty of security companies.

There are plenty of investigations companies.

What makes Strategic Security Services different is that we integrate both into one operational approach.

While many companies provide security and completely separate investigations as different services, we have built a system where patrol officers, on-site officers, dispatch, and investigators work together as one team.

When officers observe suspicious behavior, repeated activity patterns, unusual traffic, ongoing disturbances, possible narcotics activity, trespassing concerns, unauthorized occupancy, organized theft concerns, or other suspicious activity, those concerns do not simply stop at a report.

Our officers have the ability to elevate concerns directly to our investigations team for review.

In some situations, when concerns warrant additional attention and a client authorizes it, we may open what we call a **Direct Investigation**.

A Direct Investigation means a dedicated investigator is assigned to review the concern while patrol operations assist with enhanced documentation and observations related to the reported activity. This allows our team to gather a clearer understanding of patterns, behaviors, and concerns before unnecessary escalation occurs.

During a Direct Investigation, this may include:

✔️ Review of officer reports and historical activity
✔️ Site visits and observations by investigators
✔️ Meetings with officers and property management
✔️ Review of available evidence or supporting information
✔️ Enhanced patrol documentation of activity related to the concern
✔️ Pattern identification and case development
✔️ Coordination with law enforcement when appropriate and necessary

This approach allows us to be proactive, thorough, and responsible.

For example, a recent concern reported in one of the communities we service involving repeated short-duration overnight traffic patterns and unusual activity was elevated from patrol to our investigations division. After reviewing preliminary information, the client authorized a Direct Investigation.

At this time, the matter has **not been referred to law enforcement**, as additional investigative efforts are still ongoing to better understand the situation and avoid unnecessary escalation. Patrol teams have also been directed to provide enhanced documentation and observations surrounding the concern while our investigator continues reviewing the matter in coordination with property management.

This is one of the things that makes Strategic Security Services different.

We do not simply observe and walk away.

We document. We communicate. We investigate. We work as a team.

**Security Officers. Dispatch. Investigators. Property Management. Law Enforcement Partnerships. **

Working together toward one goal: helping keep communities safer.

**When it comes to your security needs, be strategic.**

🌅 Sometimes, even in all the seriousness, you have to take a moment to sit back and be thankful.

Last night during patrol, Cpl. Kieke captured this moment — a reminder that even while handling calls, watching over communities, responding to concerns, and working long nights, there are still moments that make you stop and appreciate where you are.

Security can be serious work. Long nights, difficult situations, and being there when people need help. But sometimes, you pause for just a second and remember how fortunate we are to serve the communities that trust us.

To our clients, residents, officers, dispatchers, and supporters — thank you for trusting Strategic Security Services. We do not take that responsibility lightly.

Rain or shine, day or night, we remain committed to providing a professional, visible, and accountable security presence throughout the communities we serve.

When it comes to your security needs, be strategic.

🚨 Real-Time Dispatch. Real-Time Accountability. 🚨

At Strategic Security Services, we are continuing to invest in technology that helps better protect our clients, communities, and officers in the field.

Our patrol officers and on-site security teams are now utilizing enhanced real-time CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) and dispatch notifications directly to mobile devices and wearables — helping improve:

✅ Faster response times
✅ Real-time incident updates
✅ Officer safety & accountability
✅ Time-stamped documentation
✅ GPS-supported patrol verification
✅ Better transparency and reporting

What does this mean?

Rather than relying on handwritten notes or delayed reporting, incidents and updates can now be documented while events are actively occurring — helping provide stronger documentation, more accurate timelines, and improved accountability. In many cases, these updates are radioed directly into dispatch rather than manually entered by the officer, helping ensure real-time accuracy. Officers can also manually initiate their own calls and add comments when needed.

Whether it’s a suspicious person, patrol hit, welfare concern, trespass issue, or special event detail, our officers remain connected and supported in the field.

Because security should be more than just showing up.

It should be Reliable. Accountable. Professional.

When it comes to your security needs, be strategic.

Tonight’s patrols were another reminder of why proactive security matters.

We are continuing to see a noticeable increase in transient activity and unauthorized individuals utilizing private property to sleep, camp, or hide in areas most people never check — between trailers, behind dumpsters, under structures, and even in parking spaces.

This is where we stand out… we get out. 👀

Tonight, one known repeat vagrant was located sleeping in a parking space on private property. Following policy, our on-site Security Officer radioed dispatch advising of contact, their exact location on property, and began attempting to gain voluntary compliance.

After three separate requests to leave, the individual still refused to vacate the property.

At that point, the Security Officer advised dispatch over the radio that law enforcement would be needed for a formal criminal trespass warning. Hearing the traffic, on-duty Supervisor Cpl. A. Kieke immediately attached himself to the call and responded to assist the officer in the field and help ensure scene safety.

Ultimately, law enforcement responded and issued a formal criminal trespass warning.

Not every situation ends that way. In another contact tonight, a couple utilizing an area near trailers voluntarily packed up and left on their own after contact was made — no law enforcement needed.

That is always our preferred outcome: professional contact, voluntary compliance, and respectful resolution. However, when someone repeatedly refuses to leave private property after multiple requests, we will take the appropriate steps to help protect the property, residents, businesses, and our officers.

🚔 We don’t just drive by.
👀 We physically inspect properties.
📻 We maintain real-time communication.
🤝 Supervisors actively support officers in the field.

Because security isn’t just about presence — it’s about being proactive, accountable, and professional.

When it comes to your security needs, be strategic.

A reminder that safety and awareness matter — especially overnight.

This past weekend was a reminder of how quickly situations can unfold across our city. Large portions of South and West Austin experienced major law enforcement activity, shelter-in-place alerts, and multiple incidents spread across different areas.

While situations like this are thankfully uncommon, they reinforce why visible patrol, documentation, communication, and proactive reporting matter.

At Strategic Security Services, many of our officers work overnight when most communities are asleep. Whether it’s checking suspicious activity, documenting concerns, reporting hazards, or being an extra set of eyes and ears for residents and property management — prevention and visibility matter.

Security isn’t always high-adrenaline moments. Many nights are thankfully quiet. But preparation, professionalism, and being present before something escalates is what helps communities feel safer.

Stay aware. Lock your vehicles. Report suspicious activity. And look out for one another.

CommUNITY matters.

ICYMI: Austin Police released a timeline of the series of shootings over the weekend. We have an interactive timeline here: https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/apd-releases-timeline-of-weekend-shooting-spree-3-arrested-including-2-juveniles/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_KXAN_News

Thankfully, this weekend was a relatively quiet one for our teams — and honestly, we are thankful for that.

Over the weekend, our officers handled a few routine quality-of-life issues, including illegal dumping at one property and a homeless encampment at another, which was addressed and cleared within approximately an hour.

However, just after midnight Monday morning, one of our on-site security officers made an important discovery during routine overnight patrol operations.

As part of our standard operating procedures and due diligence, our officers conduct parking lot inspections after midnight, checking vehicles for suspicious activity, damage, or concerns. During one of these routine checks, an officer noticed a vehicle with a rear window smashed out and the ignition visibly damaged — indicators that immediately raised concern. The officer contacted law enforcement, who later confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen.

It is important to note that this particular location is an overnight security site and not staffed 24/7, meaning the vehicle may have entered the property earlier in the day before overnight coverage began. Even so, thanks to an officer paying attention to details and following our protocols, the issue was identified quickly once patrol operations began.

What makes this even more important is that only hours before, portions of South and West Austin — including areas near this property — were impacted by law enforcement activity involving multiple stolen vehicles and violent incidents. Suspects were ultimately located in Manor after traveling across town.

Situational awareness matters. A damaged or suspicious vehicle in a parking lot may seem minor at first glance, but taking the extra moment to inspect something that doesn’t look right can make a real difference.

Most importantly, while the vehicle was unfortunately damaged, a family now has the opportunity to get their vehicle back instead of continuing to wonder where it went.

This is why documentation, attention to detail, and proactive patrol matter — even on the quiet nights.

When it comes to your security needs, be strategic.

Technology is changing how security operates — and we’re embracing it.

One of the features we’re most excited about with our new **Echo 911 Command & Dispatch system** is the ability to handle **digital witness and victim statements**.

Instead of waiting on handwritten paperwork or handing out company devices, our officers can now send statement requests directly by **text message, email, or print** while actively handling a scene.

What does that mean?

It means while an officer is speaking with involved parties, gathering information, or even waiting for law enforcement to arrive, a witness or victim can already begin completing their statement digitally. This helps streamline reporting, improve documentation, and allows our officers to work more efficiently without sacrificing professionalism or accountability.

For example, while an officer is dealing with a disturbance, speaking with a subject, or handling an active call, the reporting party can already begin writing their statement instead of waiting for paper forms or an electronic device to be handed over.

But that’s not all.

Our new system also supports:

• BOLOs (Be On the Lookout alerts)
• Trespass tracking & documentation
• Resident & tenant tips/concerns submitted directly to us
• Digital reporting & evidence management
• People, vehicle, and incident tracking
• Digital posters for trespassers, persons of interest, or missing persons when appropriate
• Integrated communications through our new Echo 911 platform

We’re also excited that residents and clients can now submit **tips and concerns directly to our team**, helping us better identify recurring issues, suspicious activity, or community concerns faster and more efficiently.

**Privacy also matters to us. Resident, tenant, and client information submitted to us is not routinely shared with law enforcement** unless documentation is needed for a criminal matter, legal requirement, or immediate safety concern. When appropriate, we make every reasonable effort to confer with the client or reporting party beforehand.

At Strategic Security Services, we continue investing in technology that improves **response times, accountability, communication, and service** for both our clients and the communities we protect.

**When it comes to your security needs, be strategic.**
