👮 A UNIFORM DOESN'T PROVE SOMEONE IS LICENSED! 🚨

Did you know you can verify a Texas security officer's registration online?

🔎 Texas DPS provides the Texas Online Private Security (TOPS) system, allowing the public to review security credentials.

📸 The screenshot below shows our C.E.O.'s actual Texas DPS registration history!

You'll notice several things:

✅ Current and expired registrations.
✅ Registration types and expiration dates.
✅ Company affiliations.
✅ Training and qualification history.

Some older records even show "Not Registered or Application Incomplete."

That doesn't necessarily mean someone is currently unlicensed! You have to look at the specific registration, its status, and expiration date.

And remember, a company's license and an individual officer's registration are TWO different things!

💬 Whether you're a property manager, business owner, or resident, don't be afraid to verify who's providing your security!

Professionalism is more than a uniform. It's licensing, training, and accountability.

🚓 WHAT'S ACTUALLY INSIDE A STRATEGIC PATROL VEHICLE? 👀

Meet Unit 2602 — our 2026 Ford Maverick XLT AWD Hybrid!

A patrol vehicle is more than just a way to get from one property to another.

It's a mobile workspace designed to help our officers communicate, document activity, respond to situations, and serve the properties and communities we're responsible for protecting.

So what goes into building one of our patrol units?

💻 MOBILE DATA TERMINAL (MDT)
Access to Echo911 CAD, assignments, reporting, and important information while on duty.

📡 TWO-WAY COMMUNICATIONS
Direct radio communication with dispatch and other personnel when assistance or coordination is needed.

📷 CAMERA SYSTEMS
Video documentation to support accountability, incident review, and officer safety.

🔦 SAFETY & PATROL EQUIPMENT
From first aid supplies and flashlights to traffic cones and other tools used during daily operations.

🔌 POWER & CONNECTIVITY
Keeping our equipment charged, connected, and available throughout the shift.

🚓 THE VEHICLE ITSELF
We selected the Maverick Hybrid with efficiency, practicality, and daily patrol operations in mind.

Every piece of equipment has a purpose, and every addition is intended to help our officers work more effectively.

🎥 In this video, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at Unit 2602 and some of the equipment that goes into building a Strategic patrol vehicle!

Of course, we're sure SOMEONE will find something else to talk about. 👀😂

💰 THE CHEAPEST SECURITY QUOTE ISN'T ALWAYS THE BEST VALUE! 🚨

When hiring a security company, one of the first questions people ask is:

"How much per hour?"

But here's a better question…

WHAT AM I ACTUALLY GETTING FOR THAT PRICE? 🤔

Two security companies might offer the same number of coverage hours, but what's included in those hours can be very different.

👮 Officer qualifications and training
📡 Two-way communications and dispatch support
🚓 Patrol vehicles and professional equipment
📷 Body cameras and documentation
💻 CAD reporting and incident records
📋 Supervision and accountability
🛡️ Licensing and insurance

These are just some of the things worth considering when comparing security proposals.

And let's be clear!

A cheaper company isn't automatically a bad company, and a more expensive company isn't automatically a better one.

It's about understanding the VALUE behind the price.

🎥 In this week's video, we're talking about what goes into providing professional security services and what clients should consider before signing a contract.

📰 Our latest blog, "Why the Cheapest Security Quote Isn't Always the Best Value," is also available on our website!

Don't just ask what security costs.

ASK WHAT YOU'RE GETTING FOR THAT COST! 💪

🚨 A RECENT TEXAS SECURITY SHOOTING RAISES IMPORTANT LICENSING QUESTIONS.

Following the recent fatal shooting involving a private security officer at a Fort Worth shopping center, we've seen discussions surrounding the officer's actions, training, and licensing.

We have NOT conducted an investigation into this incident, nor do we intend to. However, we did review the publicly available Texas DPS TOPS registration records.

📸 Attached are screenshots of the records we reviewed.

🔎 HERE'S WHAT WE FOUND:

✅ A Non-Commissioned Security Officer (Level II) registration with an expiration date of February 19, 2028.

🔎 No current Commissioned Security Officer (Level III) registration displayed.

📅 The last issued Level III registration shown expired August 30, 2021.

🎓 Level III training was completed in July 2019.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

In Texas, completing Level III training does NOT automatically authorize someone to work as an armed security officer. A current commissioned registration is required for regulated armed security duties.

These records raise questions about the individual's authorization to work in an armed security capacity. However, they do not independently establish his employment arrangement or licensing status on the date of the incident.

We are not determining guilt or innocence, nor are we speculating about the circumstances of the shooting.

Our purpose is simple: EDUCATION.

Licensing, training, and accountability matter. Not just for security officers, but for the businesses and communities that depend on them.

🚨 WHEN LAW ENFORCEMENT LEAVES, WHO STAYS BEHIND?

48 HOURS. ONE PROPERTY. CONTINUOUS SECURITY COVERAGE.

Recently, Strategic Security Services TX, LLC was called to assist a 55+ residential community following a concerning situation involving a resident and an eviction proceeding.

👮 DID YOU KNOW?

Law enforcement actually recommended private security!

Police and constables cannot remain on a property indefinitely, but that doesn't mean the safety concerns disappear when they leave.

🚓 THAT'S WHERE WE CAME IN!

From October 14 at 7 PM through October 16 at 7 PM, our officers provided 48 consecutive hours of security coverage.

📡 Throughout the assignment, our Echo911 CAD system documented officer activity, observations, law enforcement coordination, and routine safety checks.

Our job wasn't to replace law enforcement. It was to provide an additional layer of safety and peace of mind for residents and management.

Because security isn't just about showing up. It's about being present, prepared, and accountable.

📡 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A SECURITY OFFICER DOESN'T ANSWER DISPATCH? 🚨

Who's looking out for the officers protecting your property?

At Strategic Security Services TX, LLC, officer safety is a priority!

🚨 HERE'S A REAL EXAMPLE!

On October 15 at 10:38 PM, one of our officers failed to answer a status check. Dispatch remotely monitored the radio and heard significant static, suggesting a possible communication issue.

The activity was documented in our Echo911 CAD system, and subsequent status checks confirmed the officer was OK. ✅

SO WHAT HAPPENS WHEN AN OFFICER DOESN'T ANSWER?

📡 Dispatch attempts radio contact twice.

👮 Meanwhile, a supervisor is already checking body camera activity for possible live viewing and preparing to contact the officer.

🎙️ Dispatch remotely opens the radio to listen for signs of distress and updates the supervisor.

📞 If the officer's safety remains unconfirmed, the supervisor attempts telephone contact.

🚓 Once radio monitoring begins, the nearest available patrol officer is already responding to physically check on the officer.

These actions happen simultaneously, not one after another!

⏱️ Status-check intervals also vary based on assignment, call priority, and risk.

Because an unanswered radio could mean an officer needs immediate assistance.

We don't just assume our officers are OK. WE VERIFY IT! ✅

🎃 THINGS LOOK A LITTLE DIFFERENT AT 2 AM… 👀

During the day, it's just a shopping center, apartment complex, or quiet parking lot.

But at 2 AM?

That shopping cart moving in the wind suddenly deserves a second look. 🛒😂

That shadow behind the dumpster? 👀

And don't even get us started on the random noises coming from an otherwise empty property!

🌙 Night patrol officers know exactly what we're talking about.

But jokes aside, nighttime security is about paying attention to the things most people never notice.

While much of the community is sleeping, our officers are out checking properties, documenting concerns, and keeping an eye out for unusual activity.

Because sometimes it's just the wind.

And sometimes it's something worth investigating.

💬 SECURITY OFFICERS: What's the strangest harmless thing that's ever caught your attention during a night shift?

🔎 SAME PROPERTY. SAME PROBLEM. DIFFERENT NIGHT.

Sound familiar?

One night, it's a suspicious vehicle.

Another night, it's someone trespassing.

A few nights later, the same activity happens again.

Here's the thing: A single incident might not tell the whole story.

📋 That's why documentation matters!

At Strategic Security Services TX, LLC, we believe security is about more than responding to individual incidents.

It's about recognizing patterns, documenting concerns, and communicating information that helps property management make informed decisions.

🚓 Sometimes the solution is adjusting patrol times.

👮 Sometimes a property needs an officer during specific hours.

📊 And sometimes, several seemingly minor incidents reveal a larger recurring problem.

You can't address a pattern you haven't recognized.

💬 PROPERTY MANAGERS:

Are you seeing the same security concerns repeatedly, or are you only hearing about them when something serious happens?

🚨 TWO SECURITY SITUATIONS. TWO VERY DIFFERENT PROBLEMS.

Remember our recent discussion about security uniforms, identification, and the difference between security officers and police officers?

Then came the Warwick Mall incident in Rhode Island, where an individual reportedly performing legitimate security duties was mistaken for a potential threat, prompting an emergency response.

We waited to see whether additional details would emerge before discussing it.

But here's something interesting…

We've personally experienced the OTHER side of the security industry.

During a previous assignment, another security provider arranged for an individual to assist our officers.

When we interacted with him, we discovered something concerning.

He didn't even know what a security license was.

And after looking into the situation, we confirmed that he did not hold the required security credentials for the assignment.

⚠️ THINK ABOUT THAT.

In one situation, someone reportedly performing legitimate security duties was mistaken for a threat.

In another, someone was assigned to perform security duties without the required credentials.

Two very different situations, but both highlight important issues within our profession.

🔹 Public understanding of security officers.
🔹 Proper identification and uniforms.
🔹 Verification of licensing and qualifications.
🔹 Accountability when security assignments are subcontracted.

A shirt that says SECURITY doesn't automatically make someone qualified.

And wearing professional security equipment doesn't automatically make someone a police officer or a threat.

💬 HERE'S OUR QUESTION:

What concerns you more — the public misunderstanding legitimate security officers, or security providers failing to verify the people they send to protect properties?
