My name is Sherin and I work full time at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in the Patient Financial Services Department. I am also a wife and a mother of two beautiful girls, Abigail and Sophia. Many of you wanted to know how I got into baking and making cakes. It all started when I came across a video of frosting a cake. It looked really easy in the video that I decided to buy the tools and tr

y it out myself. I started watching more videos on YouTube on baking and frosting. But it wasn’t as easy as it looked. I had a number of failures that resulted in broken cakes, melted frostings and so on. After multiple trials and experiments, I finally made a Frozen themed cake on my daughter’s 5th birthday that was decent enough to be photographed. I am grateful that I have a large family, as I volunteered to make a cake for each of their birthdays and anniversaries. This helped me to experiment as well as learn from my failures. Due to the pandemic, I have been fortunate to be working from home since March and this gave me enough time and courage to start baking for others as well. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my parents, my siblings and my husband. Also, I would like to thank all my customers for trusting me with your cakes. I still have failures and limitations but despite all that, the verse ‘I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength, encourages me everyday to move forward and pursue my passion.
