❄️ Extended Freeze Alert – Please Prepare Now ❄️
Forecasts are calling for 61+ consecutive hours below freezing, which significantly increases the risk of frozen and burst pipes once temperatures begin to rise.
We strongly encourage homeowners to take the following preventative steps before temperatures drop further:
✅ Locate and familiarize yourself with your main water shutoff valve
In the event of a burst pipe, shutting off water quickly can drastically reduce damage.
✅ Protect the 3 P’s: Pipes, Pets, and Plants
Bring pets indoors, protect plants, and ensure pipes are insulated.
✅ Cover all outdoor spigots
Use insulated covers to reduce the risk of freezing.
✅ Drip faucets properly
• Allow a slow, steady drip (about pencil-lead thickness)
• Use the faucet farthest from your main water shutoff
• If hot and cold lines are exposed, drip both or set single-handle faucets to the middle position
🚨 If a pipe bursts or water intrusion occurs during thawing:

Prompt professional mitigation is critical. Improper or delayed cleanup can lead to moisture retention and mold growth, which is far more costly to address later.
