It's not right that black women face discrimination in the workplace based on how they wear their hair.

Help combat this bias by ensuring that there is clear criteria for evaluating job candidates BEFORE seeing any candidates. Then, evaluate all candidates against this criteria, instead of one another or other factors.

2020 is really tough for people who are just starting their careers.

I'm wrapping up my first week of teaching and I'm getting to know the students and their experiences. They have had internships cancelled, few opportunities to job shadow, and few networking opportunities. Due to the pandemic, it's really challenging for them to make connections with professionals, get advice, and grow their networks.

A new study finds differences in how men and women are evaluated in job interviews:

-Men are judged on skills
-Women are judged on skills, sociability, and morality

Women must "have it all" to be hired, men must merely be competent, the study concludes.
