This morning we hosted HR leaders, CFOs, and finance teams from across the region for our Human Capital Intelligence Series session, "When HR & CFOs Align, Everyone Wins," in partnership with Schlaupitz Madhavan.

The room filled up early, and the energy matched it. We walked through a real case study of a 100-employee manufacturer that paid $821,000 in premium last year, had actual claims of $600,000, and still saw their carrier pocket $89,918 in surplus before handing them an 8% rate increase. You could feel the room doing the math on their own plans.

We covered why the traditional renewal cycle, HR to broker to rate increase to repeat, keeps costs climbing year after year, and what changes when HR and CFOs stop treating the health plan as a once-a-year decision. The five pillars we kept coming back to: Financial Stewardship, Employee Experience, Data and Transparency, Strategic Design, and Trust and Collaboration.

We had a great time attending the Troy Chamber of Commerce’s July Work in the Network (W.I.N.!) event!

It was a wonderful morning filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and opportunities to exchange ideas with fellow professionals in the community.

We also had the chance to tour the podcast studio at 313 Media Co. It was a very cool experience and gave us plenty of creative ideas for future content and conversations.
