Just me wandering around my garden, wearing my new hat, babbling a bit about the abundant vegetation and trying to make the following point:
“Give yourself a break”

Many of us are members of the sandwich generation - managing care of our children and aging loved ones (not to mention most other areas of our lives) - and it’s A LOT.

I hope you take a moment and recognize all of your hard work - I see you! And I want to help.

Thank you to the men and women of the United States for their service to our country. For those who’ve lost their lives while on active duty, and those who were lost to mental health, we remember. We must take better care of our vets 💛

If you’re a veteran, or love a veteran, make sure they know about benefits coverage for home modifications, and durable medical equipment. Levels of benefit vary, so please check with your VA provider or call the VA for guidance on learning your benefits.

My work at COVER is completed! A new home modification program is being established and will continue to be a work in progress as we strive to meet the needs of our communities.

This was always a temporary consulting job, but it didn’t make it any easier to say see you later to my amazing colleagues. (Jay, John, Kallah, Emma, Xander, Conor, Nancy, Jaime, I’m looking at you!!)

The work that COVER does is absolutely CRITICAL to our Communities. The Home Repair Team makes homes livable; warm and safe. The amount of respect and collaboration between staff and home owners is something to see. Plus, they’re all stand up people doing stand up work!

The COVER store is a super fun place to be (it gives me vibes!) and SHOP! All of the proceeds go to funding our home repairs, keeping it no cost or low cost for our neighbors. It’s a literal win win!

I hope if you’re local you’ll support & book store and home store, by donating, shopping or volunteering.

Oh boy this book got me. A very different look at Alzheimer’s Disease - a horrible disease, no one says otherwise, but this story, “Before I Forget”, brought heart, humanity, and a sense of wonder to the AD diagnosis, without sugarcoating the very hard aspects of loving and caring for someone with this terminal disease.

I read it and thought about it, and I am still thinking about it! When I learned the author was from Vermont, I knew I had to share. Well done Tory, a really lovely book ✨

A broken leg in Peru. Traveling solo.
