Reminder:
Tonight at 6 PM we have our virtual open house for higher hopes Institute. If you would like to attend that, head over to our website and register or message us directly with your email address and will make sure you get the link. It’s at 6 PM central standard time.
This will run from 6 to 7 PM and we will be answering all of your questions about our biblical counseling master certification program, as well as our family life, education and our continuing education, classes and workshops.

I found a seat and watched.

Women greeted one another, hugged, laughed, and caught up on life.

I waited expectantly, a little excited by the warmth that I could see between the small group of friends.

New girl here.

The woman sitting beside me smiled, and I was ridiculously grateful for that smile.

But that was it. No one asked my name. No one introduced themselves.
No one leaned over the stroller to ask about my beautiful little baby sleeping beside me.

I sat in a room full of Christian women…

and felt completely invisible....

This book. A must read.

This was the place I had been so sure I might finally make a friend.

Instead, I walked back to my car feeling dejected, embarrassed, and strangely ashamed.

Tears rolled down my face. And rather than thinking, Maybe they just didn’t notice me, I turned it inward:

What is wrong with me? Why do I put myself out there? Of course this didn’t work.

That’s what rejection can do. Even when no one technically rejects you. They simply fail to see you AND that can hurt just as much.

It’s in moments like these that we come to a crossroads.

Do we wash our hands of the whole thing?Ŵhen Christians are hypocrites or when Church people are cliquey. I tried. I’m done.

Or… do we keep showing up?
