Paladin Wireless

Paladin Wireless Connect with Paladin Wireless. Paladin Wireless is a local provider of fixed wireless internet. The internet is so much more than just a luxury item.

We use terrestrial broadcast towers to provide our high speed internet service. While our focus is on providing residential internet access to under-served communities we also work with local business owners showing them how to harness the power of the internet to decrease their operating expenses. Paladin is different than other providers, we put the customer first, never change our prices, and w

e do not require a deposit based on credit. These reasons and many more make up what we call 'The Paladin Difference'. Paladin exists because the community asked us to come in and provide competition. Obviously we are not a multi-billion dollar company and do not have the resources that our competitors do but what we do have is a caring heart and a drive to make this area better. It is criminal that residents in rural America pay more money each month for less service. It is criminal that the big companies take the money made here and invest into their major markets. It is a conduit for life, the logistics of our age, and a necessity for economic development. We get that and we love our home and think it is worth investing in.

Good news for our neighbors šŸ‘‹

This is Steve. I’ve been working with OTR up in Tennessee to build an internet plan that actually works for those of us out here.

Over the last few months, we tackled the two big pain points I kept seeing:

Price — $120/mo was just too high.

Reliability — gear that wouldn’t hold up, or service that started strong and then fell off.

The result: the (NEW) Paladin Unlimited Plan — $79/mo.
That’s more than $30 less than the previous plan.

Why this should work better:

Proven device: After testing close to a dozen units, we landed on a high-gain indoor radio with 4 antennas that has consistently pulled usable signal in the rural spots we call home.

Triple-carrier fallback: One device, access to all three major LTE carriers. If one network has issues, we can switch you remotely. We have had this device deployed out here before, but only with access to one carrier - so please don't judge past performance.

I know this isn’t Paladin, but I’m deeply involved with this product and with OTR. I wanted something solid to offer our community now while we keep working and praying for a path to bring Paladin back.

If you’re interested or have questions, I’m here.

Prize and I are still praying for a way to stand Paladin back up and get back to what we love. In the meantime, this is the best I can do for our area right now.

June 13, 2025 – Update

Good morning, this is Steve. I wanted to give everyone an update on where things stand.

As many of you know, we haven’t had internet service for nearly three months. Without service, there’s been no revenue, which means we haven’t had the funds to cover ongoing expenses or get things back up and running.

I’ve spent the past few months working with several parties to try and save Paladin. Unfortunately, none were truly interested in supporting the rural communities we serve. Their primary focus was on liquidating assets or leveraging our spectrum—not on continuing service to our customers.

I was hopeful about one group I’ve been working with over the past two months, but it became clear they had no intention of providing internet service either.

We’re now at a critical point. To restore operations, we need $12,676, with $5,000 of that needed by June 16. These aren't massive numbers in a normal operating environment, but without revenue, they feel impossible to overcome.

I’ve tried everything I can think of to raise these funds and even thought I had something lined up with another party—but that fell through earlier this week when it became clear they only wanted our spectrum. At this point, I’m out of options and unsure of what else to try.

If anyone has an idea or a connection that could help, I’m all ears. I’m truly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused, and I deeply appreciate your continued support and understanding.

Update - June 4, 2025 - The conduit has been installed, I am going to check with the local building consultant to make sure we are good to go. There was a conflict area at the pole and we were told to stay outside of it. The local carrier indicated this would be fine, as long as we were within 2' from their box or so. We are outside of that by about 9". I will post another update as soon as this happens. In the interim we are getting the hole drilled in our cabinet and will connect the fiber conduit it to it.

Things are happening, they are just painfully slow.

May 27, 2025 - Update - Good morning, the contractor had an issue with his equipment and wasn't able to complete the trenching last week. He is going to do it this week, weather permitting. As soon as this is done I will post an update. We are as frustrated with the situation as you are and can only wait as patiently as we can for him to complete his part so we can get the fiber hooked up to the cabinet.

UPDATE – May 16, 2025
We’ve received word that the contractor is expected to start next week. As soon as we have a confirmed date, we’ll share it with you.

Our goal is to have internet service restored by Memorial Day. In the meantime, we’re also working on a few other key tasks, including wiring up the new cabinet, connecting the new fiber to our servers at the Atlanta datacenter, and migrating our IP addresses to our new peering partner.

Monday, 21 April 25, update - we got the new network cabinet installed last week. We are hoping to get the underground conduit put in this week. Once that is done, the local carrier will pull the fiber through it.

04/09/2025

9 April 25 - Our phones aren't working again, they are having connection issues. We are working on them, but if you need us please message us here.

Fiber Update: We have located a contractor and received guidance from the local carrier on burying the conduit and meeting them at their box on the corner. We are hoping to get the contract going on this within the next few days. Once we the conduit installed we will be able to have the local carrier pull the fiber through it to our box. I will post another update as soon as I have one.

Looking for a local contractor who can bury some conduit for our fiber to run in. 2" conduit that needs to run about 80'. Locate is done and there is 1 buried GA Power line and one water line.

Paladin Wireless Update – 31 March 2025

As you know our fiber was disconnected early Morning March 17th. We have been working on getting our fiber moved from our old location to the Royston Water Tower. In addition to the moving, we wanted to have more capacity than we currently have so we can offer faster speeds to our subscribers. This process has taken longer than expected and still is not completed.

Friday, March 28th, We met with the local carrier’s construction surveyor. The fiber is already at the corner of the parking lot where the Water Tower is located, and we just need to get it the final 90 or so feet to our network equipment. There was some thought that we could go aerial from pole to pole in the parking lot following the same route as GA Power does, but the poles aren’t tall enough inside the fence to allow for minimum height clearances (so vehicles can go safely under).

The cable will have to be put underground, and we have already ordered the locate, (call before you dig 811). Once the locate is complete we will hire a contractor to install the underground conduit from the fiber box on the corner to our network cabinet. We are installing a new cabinet on that site to accommodate future upgrades and provide 24 hours of battery backup power.

Then we let the local carrier know that we are ā€˜cable ready’ and they will run the new fiber from their box to ours. The surveyor said that process should be quick because the distance they have to go isn’t far and the job isn’t complex.

I will post another update once the locate is finished and we know more. We are also going to send a mass email out.

OTR is planning on coming back to Royston this week, maybe on Wednesday and then stay until Friday.

They will be here to hook up customers that need internet service quickly and will have inventory with them so you can walk out with your internet working.

They will also work with customers who are having issues with their OTR device. I know Justin and myself have been around to many customer locations making changes to their device, swapping it out if needed, to make sure OTR is working for them.

Some of the coverage maps provided by the carriers aren’t accurate for our area and show that one carrier's service should work at a location, and then it turns out that it does not. These types of things have been resolved through testing different devices at the location to see which one works best and switching the customer to that.

If you have OTR service and it isn’t working the way it should, please let us know so we can make it work. You can message us here, text us at 833-932-0517, or call us at 70-948-3136. If you call and we don’t answer, please leave a message, and we will call you back. As you can imagine we are experiencing a larger than normal call volume.

I would say 100% of the customers that we have worked with that had OTR devices and experienced issues were able to be resolved by switching carriers or switching devices or by simply moving to a new location in the home.

We are looking to be at Wray's again (just like last time), and once that is confirmed I will let you know.

03/25/2025

25 March 25 - UPDATE - We just heard from the local carrier that the new fiber has been delivered, and they are in the process of turning it up. We could have service restored as early as next week. Thank you for your patience in this, and we will be giving any customers that stick around with us a free month.

03/18/2025

17 Mar 25 - We are aware of the outage and are working diligently to restore service. Transparency is important to us, and we want to keep you informed. Thank you for your patience.

To enhance reliability and speed, we moved our connection to the Royston Water Tower. However, our new fiber provider delayed the installation, and our existing connection was cut before the new one was ready, resulting in the outage.

Our provider estimates 3 to 6 weeks for installation, and we are actively working to speed up the process. We appreciate your support and will keep you updated every step of the way.
With that being said, we’re not waiting, we’re bringing you a solution that can get you online now.

We’ve partnered with OTR Mobile to provide you with a stronger, more reliable internet experience:
• There will be no contracts or credit checks
• We will have Multi-carrier access options available for better coverage & failover
• Faster speeds (up to 200Mbps, including 5G) on selected plans
• Improved reliability, lower downtime & as always backed by our top tier support

This upgraded service will range between $89 to $109 per month, and will deliver a better, more dependable experience with fewer disruptions. This service will also be portable and not fixed to just one location. Our goal is to keep you connected not just for now, but long-term.

šŸ“ Join us tomorrow, March 18th, at Wray’s Drug Store (951 Church St., Royston, GA 30662) from 11 AM – 6 PM.

We’ll have devices on hand, activate them on the spot, and assist with setup!

We will also have delivery options available.

Prize and I thank you for being a Paladin customer, you are our priority and we feel that this is a great option to allow any of our customers who wish to move to this new service to get online tomorrow. As a local provider, we are committed to keeping our community connected, no matter the challenge. We stand behind delivering the best, most reliable service possible and will always work to ensure you stay online.

I, Steve, will be available all day tomorrow at Wray's Drugs to answer any questions you have.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ā€œDo not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.ā€

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

ā€œGlory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.ā€

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, ā€œLet’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.ā€
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
