We are sad to announce the passing of member Matt Bartles. After a long courageous off and on again fight with Cancer, Matt succumbed to his battle earlier this week.

Matt was a dedicated member to our department who was always willing to lend a hand anytime someone needed help. Although Matt was not an interior firefighter, he was appropriately and proudly nicknamed Gopher as he would always be our “grab this or grab that equipment guy!”

His dedication to the department and his community was something he was very proud of. He will be missed dearly by all of us!

Rest Easy Brother, we’ll take it from here! Thank you for your years of service to the Rush Fire Department and the Rush Community!

Please keep Matt’s family in your thoughts and prayers!

TODAY is the last chance to come down to Carnival 2026!

All day ride bands, $25 at the gate. Ride all day for one price. Gates opened at 1pm!!

Nuthin Fancy playing tunes 130-430pm

Grand fireman’s parade steps off promptly at 5:30 PM. Parade route starts at Saint Joe’s church heading north on 15 a making a right hand turn on route 251 to the Firehouse. The best of viewing area will be the four corners or along route 15. Road closures will begin approx 5p

From 8-11pm Haywire closes out the great weekend !!!
