Is your food recycling program hitting a wall? 🍎♻️
It’s a common frustration: You launch a sustainability initiative with high hopes, only to watch it stall a few months later.
When progress slows, we tend to blame "lack of buy-in" or a "culture problem." But the truth is usually much simpler (and easier to fix): It’s a structure problem.
Food recycling fails when internal ownership is unclear. If the handoff between the sustainability office and the loading dock isn't defined, everyone assumes "someone else is handling it.”
How to get your program back on track:
✅ Shift to Shared Ownership: No single department can do this alone. You need a synchronized handoff between Corporate Strategy (Sustainability) and Daily Ex*****on (Operations/Facilities).
✅ Identify Site-Level Stewards: Name a specific go-to person at every location. When people know exactly who to ask, the assumptions gap disappears.
✅ Watch the Early Signals: Don’t wait for quarterly reports. Look for observable checkpoints. Are the bins labeled? Is the signage visible? Is there a clear channel to report contamination in real-time?
At Denali, we don't just provide a service; we help you build the operational clarity needed to make green initiatives stick.
