Lynchburg Livestock Market Public Cattle Auction
Sale Every Monday We hold a public auction every Monday. We sell mostly cattle with a few sheep, goats & pigs.

The auction begins at 1:30 PM. The only time we close and do not have a sale is Christmas, and typically we are closed for 2 Mondays at that time.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of former owner and operator, Mr. Ed Metcalf.

Ed was pivotal in the way Virginia cattle are marketed with innovative changes such as incorporating weekly graded sales. Ed was inducted into the Virginia Livestock Hall of Fame in 2021, an honor he greatly deserved an earned by his lifetime commitment to the Virginia Cattle industry.

Ed was a kind and friendly man, who enjoyed and cared for people. Ed was patient and thoughtful. He had a way of making everyone feel special and included.

Many of his foundational ways still serve Lynchburg Livestock Market until this day. His time here was special and meaningful. We are all a little better having known him and learned from him. He will be missed, but stories of him will last for many years to come.

Please join us in praying for all of those that loved and cared for our dear friend, Ed. ❤️
