After more than a decade away from Sacramento, it was such an honor to welcome my dear friend, former boss, and longtime mentor, Congressman Lou Correa, back to Sacramento.
Seeing so many familiar faces together was a welcome reminder that this work is ultimately about people and relationships.
Lou has always led with humility, heart, and an unwavering commitment to the constituents he serves. I’m endlessly grateful for his mentorship, his friendship, and the opportunities he gave so many of us early in our careers.

Last week I had the honor of presenting at the CALDA Annual Conference in Sacramento: “Charting the Course: Advocating to Safeguard the LDA Profession and Close the Justice Gap.”

California’s Legal Document Assistants are on the front lines of expanding access to justice, helping thousands of people navigate the legal system with dignity and support. I’m grateful to represent this inspiring community and their ongoing work to close the justice gap.

What a great time reconnecting with long-time friends, colleagues, and city partners at the Cal Cities Annual Conference in Long Beach last week! We loved hearing how local leaders are turning bold ideas into action - from Santa Cruz’s youth-centered initiatives to Ontario’s forward-looking housing and economic development strategies that are strengthening the communities and creating new opportunities across the region. The energy, collaboration and creativity on display was inspiring! A special shoutout to everyone who joined our reception - we loved hosting you!

Was delighted to get out of the office today for a field trip with the California Department of Cannabis Control to tour SPARC Farm — owned and operated by my dear friend, Erich Pearson. This is what a licensed, fully compliant, and highly regulated sun-grown cannabis farm looks like. I’m so proud of all that Erich has accomplished and how far we’ve come as an industry. This is agriculture at its best.

Big news for Orange County veterans and their families!
AB 571 (Quirk-Silva), which would expedite the long-awaited Southern California Veterans Cemetery at Gypsum Canyon by providing a narrow CEQA exemption, unanimously passed the Senate Military & Veterans Affairs Committee today. 🇺🇸
The hearing followed a press conference on the Capitol steps, where veterans, legislators, and county leaders stood united in support of this dignified final resting place for our heroes.
With 200 acres of land, $50M in combined local/state funding, and support from all 34 OC cities and over 150 veterans organizations, this project is ready to move forward. A big thank you to for their leadership on this issue. Let’s get it done.

Unplanned but on point! I’ve known Assemblymember Chris Rogers for over 15 years — as a friend, former colleague, and now a member of the California State Assembly. Today, I had the pleasure of serving as a primary witness on his bill to extend an important revenue stream that benefits more than 100 local jurisdictions across the state.

While we didn’t coordinate outfits… let’s just say great minds think alike. Proud to support thoughtful policymaking — and pull off an accidental “Twinsies” moment while doing it!

It was an honor to join the Veterans Alliance of Orange County (VALOR) in recognizing three extraordinary leaders for their unwavering commitment to our nation’s veterans: Congressman Lou Correa, Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva, and Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley.

Each of these honorees has played a pivotal role in championing veteran services and advancing the long-overdue Southern California Veterans Cemetery at Gypsum Canyon. Their leadership is helping deliver on a promise that our veterans have waited far too long to see fulfilled.

A heartfelt thank you as well to Nick Berardino, President of VALOR, who served as emcee and continues to be the driving force behind this effort. His tireless advocacy and vision are helping bring real, lasting change to Orange County’s veterans — and we are all better for it. 🇺🇸

Honored to be part of this effort, which will ensure a dignified final resting place for Orange County veterans, allied veterans, first responder’s and their families.

We must ensure the honorable and respectful treatment of veterans in the County of Orange in the county they called home. With unanimous support, the State Assembly approved AB571 to allow construction of Gypsum Canyon Veterans Cemetery. Thank you to the Fabulous Fifth's VALOR President Nick Beradino and VALOR member Bobby McDonald for testifying in support.
