Your calendar called. It wants you to stop networking like it's 2005. ☕️😉

Let's make networking feel a little less like work. Creative Coffee kicks off TOMORROW, and we're bringing Sacramento's business owners, entrepreneurs, creatives, and big thinkers together for a morning of good coffee and even better conversation.

No awkward elevator pitches. No forced small talk. Just a chance to meet new people, share what you're working on, and maybe find your next collaborator, client, or favorite coffee buddy.

We'll have complimentary Temple drip coffee and pastries waiting for you. Consider it a meeting that actually deserves a spot on your calendar.

📅 Tuesday, October 13 | 9 to 10 AM

Come solo, bring a colleague, and let's make some connections worth logging off LinkedIn for.

Things are getting busy around here (in the best way possible).

We’ve got an exciting lineup of events coming to The Urban Hive, including Design Week, Creative Mornings, Creative Coffee, Creative Social, and Common Knowledge.

Think good people, fresh ideas, meaningful connections, and plenty of reasons to get out and get involved. We’re especially excited to celebrate four years as the headquarters for Capitol Creative Alliance Design Week!

Save the date, bring a friend, and come see what all the buzz is about. We’ll see you at The Hive!

Consider this your sign to get out of your usual routine during Design Week. 👀
We’ve got coffee, coworking, cocktails, conversations, and plenty of reasons to make your way to The Urban Hive.

☕ Creative Coffee | Tuesday, Oct. 13 | 9–10 AM
Start the day with complimentary coffee and good conversation. Feeling fancy? Our barista bar will also be open with specialty Temple Coffee drinks available for purchase.

💻 Complimentary Guest Day | Tuesday, Oct. 13 | 9 AM–4 PM
Need somewhere to land between Design Week events? Bring your laptop, grab a spot, and make the Hive your home base for the day. Or skip the Design Week schedule entirely and come see what we’re about.

🍷 Creative Social: Design Week Mixer | Thursday, Oct. 15 | 4–5:30 PM
We’re ending the week with w**e, appetizers, and the kind of conversations that tend to happen when you put good people in the same room. Bring a friend, come solo, stay for a little while.

Basically, if your Design Week plans could use a little more coffee, creativity, and people, we know a place.

Check out our events calendar, pick your adventure, and come see what’s happening at 730 I Street. Or, you know... come to all three. We won’t complain.

So… what happens when AI gets invited into the design process?

As part of Design Week Sacramento, we’re getting hands-on with Adobe Firefly Boards and building a brand from scratch together on 10/13 from 10am-12pm.

You’ll see what it looks like to take an idea from a rough brief to exploration, collaboration, and creative direction in real time. Think less “AI made this” and more “AI helped us get somewhere interesting faster.”

Because the goal isn’t to hand the creative work over to AI. It’s to use it to surface ideas, try things faster, and get past the blank-page moment so the human in the room can make the creative calls.

Come ready to play around, experiment, and see where the process takes you.

Part workshop, part creative experiment, and a good excuse to get out from behind your usual screen for a couple of hours.

Consider this your permission to play with LEGO during work hours.

Capitol Creative Alliance Design Week author and creative operations pro, Charleen Jones, is bringing a hands-on workshop to The Urban Hive that’s all about stepping away from the screen and getting back to the creative instincts that made you want to build things in the first place.

Less scrolling. More stacking.

On 10/12, come build something. You might even surprise yourself.

We’re not saying we have a favorite type of person… but we do like people who make the Hive a little better.

Curious. Kind. Collaborative. The kind of people who share ideas, say hello, and leave a place better than they found it.

Good people recognize good people. We’re lucky to have both.
