Is it just me or does everybody feel really crappy after eating the leftover Easter candy? Every year we say we won’t. Every year here we are. No judgment — it’s basically a holiday tradition at this point. But Easter is over, school is back, and spring sports are firing up Baseball, Softball, Soccer, and Track. Which means your pantry needs to actually WORK now. Fast, easy, grab-and-go — because nobody has time to dig through a disaster pantry before practice. Now let’s be honest — kids are going to say they can’t find anything no matter what. But with an organized pantry? There goes their last excuse. Here’s your Spring Pantry Reset Checklist 1. Pull everything out and toss what’s expired. Retire the Easter candy — bless it and release it.
2. Wipe down the shelves while they’re empty.
3. Group like items together — snacks, canned goods, breakfast, baking 4. Create a dedicated sports snack zone — easy to grab, easy to restock. 5. Put after school snacks at kid height so they can help themselves 6. Swap heavy winter snacks for lighter spring options — fruit pouches, granola bars, trail mix, hydration snacks.
7. Make a restock list of what you actually need before you go to the store 8. Give everything a home and watch how much easier your afternoons get. Your pantry should work FOR your family — not against them.

We all said 2026 was going to be our year. Best shape of our lives. New habits. New us. 💪 And then life be lifing. 🤷‍♀️ So here we are — Easter is over, school is back, and summer is pulling up fast. Time to get that closet ready whether we’re ready or not. Now if you’re in Sacramento, you KNOW our closets are complicated. One day it’s 100°, the next morning you need a jacket. So here’s the real deal on seasonal turnover when you live somewhere that can’t make up its mind: If you have the space — keep all seasons in one closet. Just move summer to the front. If you’re tight on space — pack away the big bulky sweaters and heavy coats. They’re done until October. Keep a few light layers for those cool evenings — because Sacramento will humble you in September. Store winter items clean, folded, and in bins or vacuum bags. Only put back what fits, what you actually wear, and what makes you feel good right now. Here’s something nobody talks about: if your laundry never makes it back into the closet or dresser after washing — the problem isn’t you. The problem is there’s no ROOM. When your closet is too full, putting clothes away feels impossible. Clear the clutter and watch how much easier life gets. Summer is coming. Let’s make space for it. Drop a ☀️ if your closet is ready OR a 🧥 if those sweaters are still front and center. 😂 HomeOrganization ProfessionalOrganizer DeclutterYourLife OrganizingTips SpringCleaning ClosetCleanout GetOrganized SacramentoHome LifeBeLifing

Getting Your Paperwork Under Control — Start Here

Step 1 — Make One Big Pile
Gather every piece of paper in your home into one spot. Every room, every surface. Don’t sort yet — just collect.

Step 2 — Pull Out All the Junk Mail First
Remove it immediately and toss it. You’ll be surprised how much disappears just from this one step.

Step 3 — Sort What’s Left Into 3 Piles
🗑️ Trash — toss it or shred it
📁 File — keep for reference
✅ To-Do — needs your attention

Step 4 — Tackle Your To-Do Pile in Order of Importance
Organize it from most urgent to least. Then do ONE item a day — and here’s the key: don’t skip to the easiest one. Do what matters most first.

Step 5 — File the Rest
Simple labeled folders by category. Nothing fancy. Done is better than perfect.

Quick question… does your drop zone look like a landing pad for random household items?

You know the spot. The place where mail, shoes, bags, keys, and things you don’t even remember bringing home somehow gather.

Spring Reset – Week 1: The Drop Zone

This week we’re starting small. No marathon cleaning sessions. Just one little area that tends to collect… well… everything.

Try this quick reset:

• recycle or toss old mail• return anything that wandered in from another room• put shoes back where they belong• give the surface a quick wipe

That’s it. One small reset.

Sometimes clearing just one spot can make the whole house feel calmer when you walk in the door.

So tell me… what’s the strangest thing currently living in your drop zone?

Spring is coming… which means two things: allergies and suddenly noticing how much stuff we have.

So next week I’m starting a little Spring Reset series here. Nothing extreme. No color-coded pantries required. Just small areas, simple organizing tips, and realistic ways to make your home feel a little lighter.

We’ll tackle things like:• the drop zone that collects everything• the pile of mail that keeps “meaning to be dealt with”• closets that somehow filled themselves

If you’ve looked around your house lately and thought, “Okay… how did this happen?” you’re not alone.

Starting next week we’ll reset a few spaces together — one small spot at a time.

Summer Routines: Organizing with Kids Home

Summer doesn’t have to mean chaos — a little structure goes a long way (and keeps your sanity intact)!

Here are 4 simple ways to stay organized with kids home all day:
1. Set a Daily Rhythm – Not a strict schedule, just a general flow (like “morning chores, playtime, lunch, quiet time…”). It helps everyone know what to expect.
2. Create a Summer Command Center – A spot for sunscreen, swimsuits, towels, hats, water bottles — make it easy to grab and go!
3. Keep Toys in Rotation – Put half the toys away and swap them every week or two. Less clutter, more interest.
4. Assign Simple Responsibilities – Age-appropriate chores help kids feel involved and keep the house from turning upside-down.

Let summer be fun and functional 💛
You don’t have to do it all alone

As we head into the holiday weekend, here’s your gentle reminder: be present. 💛

The to-do list will still be there. The laundry can wait. The dishes won’t mind sitting a little longer. This weekend, give yourself the gift of being fully in the moment—with your family, your friends, or even just yourself.

Soak up the laughter, the conversations, the quiet moments. You deserve rest. You deserve joy. You deserve a break from the pressure of productivity.

Let go a little. Breathe a little deeper. Bee Happy
