Between the spacious walk-in shower with Cortopassi Tile and Stone and the Bain Ultra tub from Quality Bath with a Brizo Faucet, I can’t wait for Nancy and John to enjoy this space.

They don’t talk enough about how quiet a home suddenly feels when you have to say bye to one of your favorite companions.

Last Friday, I had to say goodbye to sweet Jasper (on the right), who was part of my life for over 15 years. In addition to being the resident couch potato in our home, he also served as a therapy dog for 12 years with Capital Therapy Dogs, an all-volunteer nonprofit in the Greater Sacramento area that brings comfort and kindness to people of all ages in assisted living communities.

To say my home & heart won’t be the same without him is an understatement, but I know his memory will live on in the many lives he touched.

Nothing says fresh start like a little fresh perspective…

After attending Furniture World Market and International Surfaces Show in Las Vegas earlier this year, here are a few new trends I’m seeing take shape in the new year:

✨ Travertine is back. Yes, the stone we’ve been pulling out of floors for years is making a thoughtful comeback, now showing up in furniture, accents, and architectural details.

✨ Muted greens and rich browns everywhere. From deep moss to warm espresso, earthy tones are being intentionally used to ground spaces and add depth in the most beautiful way.

✨ A refined nod to the ’70s. Retro curves, warm woods, and low profiles are returning in a more elevated, modern way that feels far more timeless rather than just trendy.
