On Friday, the Robertson Adult Day Health Care Center in Sacramento closed after 25 years, stranding 49 patients some severely disabled, others elderly and frail and their families.

It's been eliminated, but part of it might not be eliminated. It's a cost-saver, but it's being cut to save costs. It's a vital service to thousands of Californians, but apparently not vital enough. What happened to adult day health care centers? And what might keep them alive?

Just wanted everyone to know that last week both the Senate and Assembly budget subcommittees adopted placeholder budget trailer bill language regarding the establishment of the KAFI program. Please see the Senate and Assembly budget hearing agendas which are available online. Language has not been finalized and the bill number has not been identified yet. We will keep you posted.
