As we wrap up another meaningful year supporting our partners, our team took time to come together at our holiday party to exchange gifts, share laughs, and celebrate the season. It was a meaningful reminder of the camaraderie, gratitude, and sense of community that make our work together so rewarding.

As we pause for Thanksgiving, our SMA team is grateful for the incredible associations and partners we have the privilege to support each day. Coming Together. Making Us Stronger. The entire SMA and MA&MS team enjoyed a fantastic all-staff social event at Punch Bowl Social, just a few blocks from our Sacramento office. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to meet and gather outside of the usual work environment and connect on a personal level, especially with those who typically work remotely or new to the team. Sharing this time together reminded us of the incredible spirit that drives Smith Moore & Associates, and we're excited to carry this positive energy back into our work. As SMA celebrates its 18th anniversary, we want to thank all the amazing staff who are part of our SMA family as well as those SMA alumni who passed through our mentoring doors and moved forward in their careers. Our client partners make our work so fulfilling and meaningful. We are honored to be part of each association’s pursuit of their mission. It has been a wonderful adventure that continues due to all the people we work with and for. We are forever grateful for all the support SMA has received over the years. Looking forward to the next 18!

In honor of let’s give it up for one of our trailblazers Catherine Smith who had a key role building CSDA into what it is today during her tenure as Executive Director! 👏

that Catherine was one of three CSDA Executive Directors that crafted and secured passage of Prop1A? She opened CSDA’s first headquarters office, started the relationships with other states associations that is now the National Special District Coalition, and created the Special District Leadership Academy. She was recognized with CSDA’s highest honor, the William Hollingsworth Award of Excellence. She is currently CEO of Smith Moore & Associates that manages over 20 non-profit and trade associations.

SMA's exceptional team recently participated in the premier networking event for the association community on the West Coast, the California Society of Association Executives (CalSAE) Seasonal Spectacular. During this event, our dedicated staff engaged with hotel representatives, vendors, and other valuable association partners. Through strategic networking, SMA staff cultivate meaningful relationships on behalf of our clients, advancing their missions and enhancing support for their events. We take great pride in our team's representation at this event—SMA staff truly rocks!

Huge shout out for SMA’s Amanda Rae Hall who received recognition and her Certificate of Completion from the California Society of Association Executives (CalSAE) at yesterday’s Seasonal Specular event held in Sacramento, CA. Amanda pursued a course of study to advance innovative association management through assessment, applied methodologies and facilitative leadership. Her final step in this challenging program was participation in a workshop where she and her fellow cohorts shared their insights and findings with conference attendees. Congratulations Amanda! We are so proud of you and your accomplishment!
