It slowly drained.

Revenue was strong.
The team was growing.
The brand looked solid.

But internally:

Margins were thin.
Decisions slowed down.
The leader was exhausted.

Nothing was “wrong”.

Yet everything felt heavy.

But leads only come when the market feels value.

Principle 1 of the Circle of Business is simple:
Your revenue is directly linked to the value you deliver.

If your product is unclear…
If your promise is weak…
If your positioning is vague…

Marketing will not save you.

First, fix your Product & Service.
Make your offer concrete.
Define the problem you solve.
Increase the experience value.

We wasted a lot of money on marketing.

Not because ads don't work.
But because we didn't understand marketing yet.

In the beginning, we thought marketing meant:
"Be visible and wait."

So we spoke to "everyone".
And reached no one.

Only when we started studying our own businesses more closely,
We saw the pattern.

Growth always came after clarity.

Who actually buys?
Why do they buy?
What problem are they trying to solve?

Marketing is not pushing messages.
It is learning.

That insight became the heart of the orange circle.

When you know your customer,
Your message sharpens.
Your offer improves.
Your sales follow.

When you don't,
You just make noise.

Marketing is not activity.
It is focus.

Know your customer.
The rest becomes simpler

In our first companies, we explained a lot.

We explained tasks.
We explained roles.
We explained expectations.

Still, things fell through the cracks.

Deadlines were missed.
Follow-ups didn't happen.

And we kept hearing:
"I thought someone else was doing it."

That was a painful lesson.

Telling people what to do is not leadership.
It is information.

Leadership starts when there is ownership.

Only much later did we learn to stop assigning tasks and start making agreements.

Not: "This is your responsibility."

But: "Do you commit to this result?"

That one question changes everything.

An instruction can be ignored.
An agreement cannot.

This insight became a key part of the Circle of Business.
Without ownership in the blue circle, you stay the limiting factor in the green circle.

If you want people to step up, stop giving tasks.
Start making agreements.

For years I thought my frustration was the problem.

Orders went wrong.
Customers complained.
People did their “best”, but things still broke.

My first reflex?
“If people would just do their job, this would work.”

Later I learned the hard truth.

People usually fail where systems are missing.

In my early companies, work moved by email, memory and goodwill.
Sales told production “something”.
Production filled in the gaps.
Customers called… and no one knew who should respond.

That is not a people problem.
That is a blue circle problem.

The turning point was simple.
I stopped explaining and started structuring.

Clear steps.
Clear ownership.
Simple checklists.

Not thick manuals.
Just clarity.

The chaos slowed down.
Then it stopped.

Here is what I wish I had known earlier:
Your frustration is not weakness.
It shows you exactly where your business needs a process.

Stop fixing people.
Start fixing the system.
