🌟 Unleashing the Spotlight: Sarah Reed 🌟
Today we’re shining the spotlight on Sarah Reed, our Chief Learning Officer, whose work is shaping how UL and our clients learn, grow and lead with intention.
🎓 Background
Sarah serves as UL’s Chief Learning Officer, leading efforts to build organizational capability by aligning learning and development with our strategic priorities and cultural behaviors. Her career spans change management, HR, learning and development and organization development at Sempra Energy, VSP and SMUD. One of her most meaningful experiences came through her graduate work at Pepperdine, where she supported global change initiatives including strategic planning and network-building for government orphanages in China and international adoption organizations. Her work was later featured in the American Journal of Psychology.
📂 Current Work
Sarah is currently focused on strengthening trust and psychological safety across UL. She believes high-trust teams are essential to high performance and she’s energized by the opportunity to help shape a culture where people feel safe, supported, and empowered to do their best work.
🛠️ Toughest Challenge
With so many exciting initiatives underway, Sarah’s biggest challenge is staying focused on the highest priorities. She’s intentional about delegating and creating development opportunities for her team; ensuring they can grow in the areas that light them up, rather than trying to do everything herself.

A major highlight has been the delivery of Situational Leadership across UL. Sarah is incredibly proud of the team behind it, whose commitment to excellence ensured the experience went far beyond “good enough” and created lasting value for the entire organization.

Sarah loves to travel and embraces adventure whenever she can. If there’s an opportunity to experience something new, chances are she’s saying yes.
