Happy Presidents Day! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ More shots from the archives archive. 11 years ago while on vacation in Puerto Rico. On our last day, most of old San Juan was closed off. So, curious, I followed the trail of beefed-up security to an open Plaza, through a TSA checkpoint (felt like twilight zone). Prior to this, I had no idea who Obama. It was the Democratic Primaries. Then all of a sudden Obama girl started blaring everywhere. I had heard of him before of course. The crowd rushed to the barrier. I watched on. Mindful of the complete domination of secret service agents and special forces detail on the rooftops. I spotted him shaking hands with the crowd. I rushed forward for a handshake. I thought it was cool. Little did I know he would come to be the president of the United States by the end of the year, go on to inspire many, and preside over some of our most challenging years. #2008 @ Viejo San Jaun

My first time at Squaw Valley was very fitting. There was an all day blizzard. The wind blew so hard the snowflakes felt like sand. It felt very otherworldly for someone who had always avoided cold winter destinations. It felt like another planet yet this was virtually in my backyard, just an hour and a half away in Tahoe. Amidst all this, skiers ran about with big grins from ear to ear, enveloped in deep fluffy snow. Have you been to Squaw Valley? What was your favorite part?

Every sunset is a sunrise somewhere.๐ŸŒ„ Seen here, Sunset at mirror lake, the furthest point east in the Yosemite valley and sunrise as you enter the valley. What an epic weekend in this valley of epic proportions. The winter here is as brutal as it is beautiful. The experience barely captured in photos. Have you been to Yosemite? In the winter? What was your favorite view?

Bridal Veil Falls in the winter, Yosemite Valley, California. The falls come crashing down into a fine mist that is instantly frozen at the base. It melts and freezes again upon contact with anything. It was a real icy, slippery, cold wet mess trying to get to the base to take this shot. After falling countless times, I resorted to scooting up the frozen path on my butt. I literally froze my butt off!... LOL. Make sure to bring ice cleats or boots with spikes. It was well worth the effort. Have you ever been to Yosemite? In the winter? What was your favorite view? ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿค“

Shot with the Canon 5DsR and the Tokina 16-28mm f/2.8. Straight from the camera, I was able to barely keep the front lens element dry long enough to snag this shot.

Chicago!!! ๐Ÿ˜ Finally got around to editing this shot from my trip to Chicago in October. Typical Chicago weather threatened to torpedo this trip. Alas on this evening, after raining all day and overcast skies, the city finally revealed herself at sunset. Read more about this shot at the link below .

The Table of the Fallen is a table for one, fully set, in every cafeteria, refectory, dining hall or formal ceremony, often times inconspicuously in the corner. The Table of the Fallen is set out for those who did not make it back for dinner that day. You can read more about this creative under water photo shoot dedicated to fallen solders at the link below.
