One of the things I’ve been exploring lately with myself and other women, is the action of climbing the ladder vs being satisfied and fulfilled on one of the rungs. I read this definition of “rung” and it not only made me chuckle a little bit, but offered quite an insight about being at the top.

“A rung is one of the horizontal steps of a ladder. You should never stand on the very top rung of a ladder — it can be dangerous!”
www.vocabulary.com.

If you’ve ever been in a top level of leadership- this may strike a chord as it did with me!

Explore where your own happiness level could be. One of those rungs might just be the perfect place.

Happy New Year! Several women in my program have been working hard, since last year, toward a goal of finding a new job in 2023. We have been working on: personal branding, power statements, resume rejuvenation, and targeting key industries and companies that match her values and beliefs. We also work on situational issues going on in her workplace.

Don’t go into the game without a plan. Figuring out your next move is time-consuming, exhausting, and sometimes a depressing process. I know this first-hand! The ladies in my program are taking a methodical approach and focusing on HER needs/wants/desires first, and then going after it!

Good luck out there !

Some of the most successful people I know never made excuses for why something didn't get done. Keep an eye and ear out when you talk to people, are they making excuses? Are you?

Part of the work I do with clients, whether it be situational coaching, or getting ready for a career change, I always incorporate a wellness aspect into our conversations. You will have to be open to discussing how you take care of yourself. This aspect is so important to me, so, it’s a non-negotiable. I need to make sure that my clients understand that wellness is critical to their success in the workplace.

I just drove 4+ hours (!!) to retrieve my parents from their Caribbean cruise. I decided to incorporate some of my mom's leadership wisdom into Gina's tip of the day. My mom scraped by to put herself through college to obtain her nursing degree while managing my little brother and me as a single parent. She graduated and became an RN in the ER & in hospital units. She eventually went into management, leading nursing home facilities for the elderly with dementia, Parkinson's etc. I did not understand how she could handle that line of work but she had a special gift and was a beloved coach and mentor to her staff. Also, her patients adored her. After spending time together on Thanksgiving, she inspired me to record this tip of the day. If you agree (or disagree) or have helpful additions to my tips in this short video - leave them in the comments.

Side note: I guess my mom hasn't followed my business page yet so I cannot tag her. I think I need to have a little discussion....

I have had the fantastic privilege to work with a powerhouse woman, Felicity Wienand who is in a tech leadership role (my fave) and is doing the work to be the boss-lady that she was always meant to be.

Our journey together started with a little bit of coaching and discovery, then into self-branding exercises. The best "session" we had so far was at Starbucks where I learned about her journey from South Africa to the states and how she chose "herself" one year ago - choosing to be the best version of herself that she can possibly be. We also got to jump into a Crossfit workout session together and push each other through it (because it was so bad).

But today was the best: I got to be present with her at her head-shot photo session with another amazing boss-lady in my network Tori Stauffer Photography (check out her work-amazing-she has done all of my pictures).

I truthfully love bringing women together - we are so much more powerful when we lift each other up!

I am so proud of and all the other women who are pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. Keep going Felicity!
