Here’s the story of my
I disliked winning.
Until the last five years with great mentors I had a dislike for the word “winning” because I thought it meant someone else was “losing” which I now know was a limiting belief.
Here’s what I’ve learned on my journey…
…and now as a trainer I have the opportunity to tech others how to win daily.
Not all situations are zero-sum situations where others lose for me to win. There are often win-win opportunities.
In fact, the more I’ve been winning the more I’ve been able to help others like me…
Like my teammates, my patients, my clients, my daughter and my family.
3 years ago, I had just completed my second year of my career. I had already leveled up twice, from Patient Experience Coordinator to Senior Patient Experience Coordinator and then a shift into Operations Specialist.
Sure, the extra few bucks was great, but it was the shift in my mindset and more time with Morgan Hutchings that made the difference. I was now entrusted to help the organization grow by helping the people who help the patients.
But to do that, I had to grow as well. So I finally took action on that personal goal of mine to own a Subaru, my dream car for safety, family, and outdoors.
It was a nerve racking, sitting in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people doing something I’ve never done before (buying a new car) and committing to something with the longest future term I’ve ever done.
But I did it. I love the car. I grew so much.
And in the last 3 years I’ve helped at least a have dozen teammates dream of a car, set a goal for a car, or buy a car on their own as well. Teammates from 18-50 years of age.
I did that.
And that’s my career now, helping others win more without trampling on, or making others lose, to do it.
I like winning and you should too.
I hope I get the chance to see you or your team at one of our upcoming events.
Ladies, Tell me your winning story in the comments for a special gift to be sent your way!
