25 years ago today, America changed forever.

We remember the 2,977 lives taken on September 11, 2001. We remember the firefighters, police officers and first responders who ran toward danger while everyone else was trying to escape. We remember the heroes aboard Flight 93. And we remember the thousands who answered the call to serve in the years that followed.

But we also remember what America looked like in the days after 9/11.

Flags flew from front porches. Strangers helped strangers. Communities came together. For a moment, we were simply Americans.

A quarter-century has passed, but some things should never fade.

Remember the lives lost. Honor the heroes. Never forget. 🇺🇸

Fire Restriction Rescindment of Orders SWCLO2631, SWCLO2632, SWCLO2633, SWCLO2634, & SWCLO2635

Moderated fire danger indices and improved weather conditions have resulted in reduced wildfire hazard in Southwest Utah. As a result, Stage 2 fire restrictions (on all open fires) enacted by the above Closure Orders are hereby rescinded within the areas described below beginning July 31, 2026 at 0001 hours.

Fire danger is still expected to remain high as summer months progress; therefore, Stage 1 fire restrictions enacted by Closure Order , SWCLO2602, SWCLO2603, SWCLO2604, & SWCLO2605 are still in place.

Area Description: All unincorporated private and all state lands within Beaver, Iron, Washington, Garfield, and Kane counties. This order does not affect private lands within incorporated towns or city limits.

Effective Date: 12:01 am, Friday, July 31, 2026

Today, we join the fire service in mourning the tragic loss of three wildland firefighters who gave their lives while protecting others on the Colorado-Utah state line.

Our hearts are with their families, friends, crews, and every member of the wildland fire community during this unimaginable time. We also keep the injured firefighters in our thoughts as they recover.

Please keep these firefighters, their loved ones, and all those continuing to battle wildfires across the West in your prayers.

We honor their sacrifice.

Another large tree safely removed!

This tree had large limbs extending over the home, creating a potential fire hazard and increasing the risk of damage during high winds or storms. In addition, the tree’s root system had the potential to impact the foundation over time.
