One of our customers hired a POD-style moving company for a cross-country move because it sounded easy, affordable, and convenient. Everything was packed up and sent off, and she thought the hard part was over.

But when the POD finally arrived at her new house, she got a call saying she had to pay an extra $2,500 before they would even unlock it. If she didn’t pay within 5 days, they would take the POD away with all of her belongings still inside.

After already spending money on the move itself, she was suddenly stuck trying to come up with thousands more just to get access to her own things. In the end, she spent close to $5,000, and she still had to hire movers separately to unload everything and move it into the house.
