Thank you to Beaufort County Council for recognizing International Doula Month and helping bring awareness to the importance of doula support, postpartum care, and family wellness throughout Beaufort and the surrounding communities.

Celebrating all of the doulas, birthworkers, families, and advocates helping create healthier and more supported journeys before, during, and after birth.

During Monday's County Council meeting, Beaufort County Council proclaimed May as International Doula month.

This is a designated time to celebrate birth and postpartum professionals who provide physical, emotional, and informational support to families. Initiated by DONA International in 1998, this month raises awareness about how doulas improve birth outcomes, increase parental confidence, and reduce disparities in care.

Thank you to all of our Doula's for the hard work you do to create healthier and safer outcomes for families across Beaufort County!

Founder and maternal health advocate, Tameka Walker, will represent Energy Evolution at the South Carolina State House to engage with leaders across the state and support ongoing advocacy efforts.
