Seavey Vineyard

Seavey Vineyard Seavey is a family-run estate vineyard & winery that hand crafts age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Chardonnay

Seavey is a family-run vineyard and estate winery that hand crafts age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay using 19th century winemaking techniques. Our vineyard is nestled in the south-facing hillsides of Napa Valley, where the land is groomed to produce world-class wines. The Seavey Wine Library maintains wine from each vintage produced on this land and provides close friends of the

winery a chance to taste back through decades of Cabernet Sauvignon. In 1981, William and Mary Seavey restored a prized, historic mountain slope vineyard in the heart of Napa Valley, with original vine plantings by the Franco-Swiss Cellar dating back to 1871. Formerly a cattle ranch dating back to the 1880s, the 200-acre property embraces its rustic 1881 stone dairy barn as the winery and tasting room. Seavey produces only 2,000 cases annually, most of which are sold directly to Napa Valley wine enthusiasts. A small amount of Seavey wines are sold in restaurants and retail venues, but they are hard to find, hence the term "cult cabernet". It is sometimes urban legend discovered when spotting Seavey wines on restaurant lists. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate:

- 2010 Seavey Cabernet [RP: 97]
- 2009 Seavey Cabernet [AG: 96]
- 2008 Seavey Cabernet [RP: 95]
- 2007 Seavey Cabernet [RP: 96+]

The gravity of silence is greater than the weight of sound.

Hearing the sound of gravel cracking under the weight of your feet, the buzzing of the honeybee collecting pollen on lavender flowers 50 feet away; it's the stillness of the country, surrounded by the hills that stands out. The stillness wins.

That enigmatic thought is something to ponder with a 2016 Seavey Cabernet Sauvignon looking out over the pastures and vineyard stillness at Seavey.

Be a part of the stillness at Seavey.

We are saving a seat for you.

What Napa wineries offer vinyl and wine experiences in the tasting room or wine cave?

Algorithms and generic search results love to throw the same three mega-wineries at everyone. They look at data points, not soul.

True wine and vinyl experiences can't be auto-generated. They require a human touch, a deep respect for the classics, and an appreciation for the analog.

We curated our Napa Valley essential wine and vinyl hit list:

Seavey Vineyard – A masterclass in classic, rugged Napa hillside Cabernet. No shortcuts, no trends, just pure timeless quality produced by Jim and shared by John, Patrick & Nurit. 😉

Hourglass Wine – Where modern terroir meets old-school passion. Chatting with Ian and Jeff feels exactly like finding that rare, original-press vinyl you’ve been hunting for years.

– Mike and Schatzi have built something truly authentic here. It’s small-batch, deeply intentional, and possesses a soul that algorithms completely miss.

Stony Hill – Marcos is keeping the vibe alive at one of Napa's absolute historic landmarks. This place is the definition of a midcentury classic—elegant and beautifully analog.

– When you hang with Miguel, Michael and Justin, you aren't just getting a tasting; you're getting a curated session. It's the perfect mix of great hospitality and killer juice.

Seavey Synchrony

Fred Seavey shares a family story about Seavey Vineyard located in St. Helena, Napa Valley and the importance of caring for the land, vines, people and process as the key to making great wine.

“A few years ago I remember when my dad passed away, we had a memorial service for him inside of our winery.  One of his friends; she comes from France - her family has made wine for multiple generations, and she said this Californian is crazy.  He knows nothing about making wine…  It like turned out to be really good wine.  I think it's the way that one cares for the land and the attention you pay to the vines and the process and the people and the key to try to work in synchrony with all of the things around us.”
