Type House was originally located on Hinkley St. in Benton Harbor, MI. Carl McKenzie was owner then John Mai and Rick Rock purchased and became Mai & Rock in 1978 and then moved it to 822 Highland Ave., St. Joe, MI in July, 1979. In 1981, THI had 36 employees across three shifts. Rick became sole owner in 1987. Type House closed its doors on August 31, 2010. End of an era but the memories remain .
