⭐ Employee Spotlight:

This month we’re excited to spotlight Colin McKillips. Colin started at Flextech in January 2015 as a machine operator and has worked his way into his current role as our Die Shop Manager. Colin is a very talented die and tool builder whose craftsmanship and problem-solving abilities play an important role in supporting our manufacturing operations. From precision steel rule dies to complex compression molding tool construction and secondary fixtures, his attention to detail and commitment to quality help ensure we continue delivering dependable results for our customers.

What makes Colin especially valuable, however, is not just his technical ability, it is the way he supports the people around him. He is always willing to step in and help wherever needed, whether that means assisting with a production challenge, troubleshooting tooling issues, or supporting fellow team members on tight deadlines. His team-first attitude and willingness to share his knowledge make him a key part of the Flextech team and a respected resource throughout the organization. We appreciate Colin’s hard work, dedication, and the critical role he plays at Flextech.

Like many manufacturers across our industry, Flextech is currently seeing broad-based price increase notifications from the majority of our suppliers. These increases are impacting key materials we use every day, including foams, adhesives, fabrics, and other critical raw materials.

Much of this price pressure is being driven by ongoing disruptions in global supply chains, including instability in the Middle East and its impact on petroleum-based inputs and energy-linked commodities. As many of these materials are petroleum-based or closely linked to global energy markets, the impact is both broad and difficult to avoid.

At Flextech, our priority is to manage these pressures proactively and transparently while minimizing the impact to our customers wherever possible. While we do foresee that pricing adjustments will be necessary, we are actively working with our supplier network to challenge increases, identify alternatives if possible, and delay or reduce these increases wherever we can.

Our focus remains on what we can control:

• Maintaining transparency and clear communication with our customers
• Strategically managing sourcing, inventory, and material alternatives
• Preserving the quality, consistency, and reliability you expect from Flextech
• Working directly with suppliers to mitigate cost increases before they reach our customers

We recognize that cost volatility creates challenges across the supply chain, and we are committed to navigating this environment in a way that prioritizes long-term partnerships over short-term reactions.

This new machine increases our die cutting capacity and allows us to cut parts much faster and more consistently than ever; right at the top of industry standards. The result? Tighter dimensional tolerances, improved quality and consistency and even better reliability for our customers.

At Flextech, we’re continuously investing in new equipment and expanding capacity to support continued growth and meet increasing customer demand.

Members of our Sales and R&D teams returned from SHOT Show last Friday and have finally recovered. A long, busy but very productive and fun week!

It was great to reconnect with our current customers and suppliers, and just as exciting to meet so many new prospective customers. We have many great partnerships in this market, and it is always enjoyable to be able to meet in person.

One highlight for us was spending time with our valued customer JayJays out of Brecon, Wales (https://www.jay-jays.com/). and Flextech have been collaborating for several years on the development and refinement of a laminated/molded pad system for their new Gen 5 Ares belt kit, which JAYJAYS officially introduced at SHOT Show. The response to their new product was outstanding, and we’re very proud to be part of its development. We will be creating a case study of our collaboration with JAYJAYS to get this next generation product for Jay Jays to the market. Stay tuned!

All of us at Flextech are already looking forward to the new molded foam projects that will come from the SHOT Show and in support of the mission critical applications for military, tactical, and law enforcement markets we serve.

His reliability and work ethic make him someone his team knows they can count on, no matter how busy or challenging the day becomes.
