CCFD units responded to a 3-vehicle MVA (motor vehicle accident) at the 134mm of I-26 Westbound on June 2nd, 2026 at 12:18pm. Rescue-78 arrival on scene, with one patient entrapped. Fire units extricate the patient out of the vehicle. At this time CCFD units decided to shutdown I-26 Westbound for safety. Due to severity of the patient was transported by LifeNet. CCFD was assisted by CCEMS, CCSO, STP, LifeNet and CCFS.

Traffic Alert: if you are heading to West Columbia or Columbia, you may want to consider an alternate route. Motor Vehicle Accident 26 westbound at the mile marker 133. The right lane is block at this time. CCFD units are on scene.

The burn ban is still in place across South Carolina.
Dry conditions, gusty winds, and low humidity continue to fuel a high wildfire risk statewide. The South Carolina Forestry Commission has issued a State Forester’s Burning Ban until further notice.
This ban means no outdoor burning in unincorporated areas. That includes yard debris, prescribed burns, campfires, bonfires, and any recreational fires.

🚫Per The South Carolina Forestry Commission there is still a NO BURN BAN for the state. A fire can get out of control very quickly.

💧There is no rain projected until Saturday, 4/25 & chances are currently reasonably low. Expect the burn ban to continue during these conditions.
