The year is 1940 and RCA introduced a new amplifìer, the MI-12214. This was a good sized mono amp rated at 50 watts output. The amp consisted of 11 tubes including 2 rectifiers and 4 6L6s in the output. It has 3 inputs consisting of 2 mic inputs and 1 phono input. 2 tone controls, one for bass the other for treble. For its time this amp was very sophisticated and versatile.
When we got this amp it was dirty, neglected and missing both rectifier tubes and all four 6L6s. After replacing the tubes it was necessary to do a total recap job and replace a couple resistors. For an 84 year old mono amp it sounds truly amazing. The rich warm soundonly tubes can produce combined with the dead quiet performance due to the lack of transistor hiss then you know why tube amps are still king.
It took several hours of cleaning to remove years of dirt to reveal the original finish beneath
It can be used as is for a PA amp but using an adapter from a 1/4 inch mono phono plug to a 1/8 inch or an MP3 adapter you can play your favorite music or recordings through this amp. It has multiple taps in order to operate different types of speaker including 8 ohm speakers.
The amp has been throughly gone over and tested to ensure its in great working order.
This is one amp I'd love to add to my personal collection but you can't keep everything. This amp has been very carefully packed and shipping is available.
We took a lot of pictures and made a short video of the amp in operation but it sounds so much better in person.
This is a rare amp in great working condition.
Our selling cost is $2000.00
