From Computer and Data Science to Education, Entrepreneurship, Criminal Justice, and Exercise Science, these fellows are stepping boldly into spaces where their talent, leadership, and potential are being recognized.

Last week, we brought together an incredible group of leaders and early-career professionals for the launch of the first Leaders Lounge experience with the Ciresi Walburn Leadership Fellows at the University of St. Thomas.

Leaders Lounge: From Job Seekers to Career Builders was designed to create intentional dialogue around what it truly takes to build a meaningful career in today’s competitive market. From networking and professional presence to long term growth and leadership, fellows had the opportunity to engage directly with professionals who are actively shaping talent pipelines and opening doors for the next generation.

Congratulations to Dr. Jessica Thompson-Dixon ( ) for successfully defending her doctoral dissertation in Higher Education. Jessica’s research comes at a pivotal time as she explores how private foundation grantmaking practices within higher education influence the pursuit of racial equity.

Jessica joined JJC in 2022 as an inaugural Organizational Development Consultant, and we are incredibly grateful for her leadership, brilliance, and continued growth. She is a true trailblazer and we are proud to celebrate this milestone alongside her.

Grateful to have facilitated a session at the Wallin Education Partners ( ) Kickstart Your Career event. “From Application to Offer” was all about cutting through the noise of the job search and focusing on what actually moves the needle. Thankful for the opportunity to empower early-career professionals from across Wallin, Genesys Works Twin Cities, and Dougherty Family College.

Before you chase New Year’s resolutions, pause and appreciate who you already are.
One of my favorite exercises I lead is the “I am…” activity. Words that cut through titles and expectations and bring you back to identity.
Because clarity starts with ownership. And ownership is the foundation of your brand.
Too often we rush to add new goals without honoring the strengths, values, and lived experiences that already make us powerful. Growth is not about erasing yourself. It is about refining, naming, and standing confidently in who you are.
New year. Stronger clarity. Greater intention.

My investment in youth comes from a deep understanding of workforce development, talent cultivation, and the realities of today’s labor landscape. I was truly grateful for the invitation to serve as a session facilitator for InspireMSP’s Annual Career Day where I had the opportunity to empower middle and high school students to step boldly into their potential.

James Cooper Consulting LLC.’s Own Your Brand workshop empowers individuals to discover what makes them stand out, shape their story with confidence, and learn how to show up authentically in every space they enter. Participants walk away knowing how to turn their passions, purpose, and presence into a personal brand of success.
