Best Day/Worst Day (2017 flashback)
On my Best Day, I have the honor of organizing someone's space. Transforming chaos to calm is the result, but it's the process that I enjoy the most. Delving into how the person wants to use the space, resolving the pain points, being the catalyst to bring their vision to life, and helping them live out their values through what they keep and let go of. Often they cannot imagine how we'll get there, but rest assured, I have a plan and can usually estimate the time it will take. I am in it to win it for my clients. The upside of getting organized means, efficiency, more rest, ease, time for what's really important and makes life sing, and restored relationships. Stuff can really get in the way of loving people.
Worst Day
This was my garage, the domain of the x. Opening the door to this disaster filled me with anger. No matter how often it was cleaned and organized, it would revert back to this over time. When we divorced and the house was being sold, I could not fathom how it was to be divided up and categorized for the x to pick up. Asking for help felt like admitting defeat but also an act of the greatest courage.
At the end of it, I only remember the gratitude.
