It’s Day 1 of our 25th year and we’re throwing it back to a couple of weeks ago when we pre-launched our 25th year celebrations with a beautiful evening on the St. Croix. enjoyed perfect weather, some spectacular scenery and impressive infrastructure, and, most importantly, time connecting with each other and those most special to us.

Today, Isthmus is celebrating our 24th anniversary. Our crew at the office shared some sweet treats and reflections of our first two dozen years of meaningful projects, partnerships, and purpose. We are thrilled to be entering our 25th year and look forward to sharing the stories behind our team and our work as we celebrate over the next year. Happy 24th, !

Today on Indigenous Peoples Day, Isthmus honors the Indigenous People of Minnesota. We recognize that our homes and workplaces, our schools and parks, and the roads and sidewalks we help design are all located on the tribal lands of the Dakota (Sioux) and Anishinaabe (Ojibwe and Chippewa). We strive to care for these lands through our work and help build awareness through education.

Our state’s name is derived from a Dakota phrase, Mni Sóta Maḳoce which means “land where the water reflects the clouds.” We invite you to learn more about the history of the people who first inhabited our land by exploring these resources:

Isthmus Insights Day 2026 is in the books and what a full and fun day we had exploring, learning, and connecting at the Science Museum of Minnesota.

We were on the go from the start with a mini version of a Complete Streets field walk before heading inside and embarking on a challenging Museum Mission activity that put our teamwork to the test! After lunch, we got a unique peek behind the curtain with tours of the museum’s workshop, vault, and lab — including a ride in the massive freight elevator.

We rounded out the day with an informative look back at our year in review followed by an exciting peek ahead as we prepare to enter our 25th year in just a couple of weeks. Thank you, , for your engagement, energy, and enthusiasm! Isthmusaurus out!
