With support from Chef Yia Vang, Help the House Foundation shared its mission with WCCO & CBS News Minnesota "Mid-Morning" viewers today. Chef Yia and founder, Kate Meier (Craftmade Aprons), discussed the upcoming annual gala which raises funds to aid hospitality employees around the country.

A star-studded lineup of some of most accomplished chefs around will cook at the event on Sept. 27 at the Radisson Blu in Bloomington.

The Help the House Foundation is hosting its second annual House Party Gala on Sept. 27 at the Radisson Blu in Bloomington, bringing together top chefs to raise money for hospitality workers facing financial, physical, or mental hardship.

A client recently introduced me to Kate Meier (founder of Craftmade and Help the House Foundation) as the foundation seeks ways to generate more awareness for its mission. I'm honored to provide pro bono PR support to this organization as it preps for its second annual gala, a first-ever cookbook, more A-list chef partners from around the country and food service and other hospitality brand sponsorships.

The foundation provides a safety net for industry employees who often go without basic benefits -- a cause Restaurant Business and editor-in-chief, Jonathan Maze, highlights here.

A major win-win moment as the Today Show asked Consumer Reports to share their top-rated grills. Earlier in the year we worked directly with CR home editor, Paul Hope, for his independent review of the Kamado Joe Classic. Seven months later, that brand experience stayed with Paul as he showcased the Kamado Joe (Middleby Outdoor) as the best charcoal option available on the nation’s leading morning show. After a quick scramble to send a new grill for this filming, everything came together between NBC, CR and Kamado Joe to make it happen!

Another great example of the value of earned media – lasting long after the original story is published by extending that engagement in new and meaningful ways. I can’t think of a better endorsement situation than a trusted, unbiased product review outlet, like CR, touting your product on a major consumer media platform like this!

In addition to our own sessions at Culinary House West last week in California, Masterbuilt and our chef partners, Eric Gephart and Lamar Moore, had the chance to grill for fellow event sponsors, Omaha Steaks and Perdue Farms.

It was a great opportunity to maximize our cookers and chef talent for their hosted meals and build relationships with like-minded brands. We enjoyed pairing up with their chef partners, The Grill Dads (Ryan Fey and Mark Anderson) and Mark Trimble.

Nice see so many respectable brands participate in the overall event, including Hormel Foods, YETI, KitchenAid, Organic Valley, Kendall-Jackson W**es, Vital Farms, La Colombe Coffee Roasters, an Alden's Ice Cream.

Chefs Eric Gephart and Lamar J. Moore brought their highly interactive, flavorful and educational smoke show to showcase the benefits of the brand's Gravity Series digital charcoal grills and smokers. The perfect setting, experience and timing to celebrate all things backyard cooking as the season kicks into high heat.
