Have you ever wondered what an AUDIOGRAM is?
📉 An audiogram is a graph that records the results of a hearing test.
• The VERTICAL axis shows the sound volume/intensity measured in decibels (dB).
• The HORIZONTAL axis represents the sound frequency/pitch measured in Hertz (Hz).
❤️ The right ear results of a hearing test are recorded in red (right=red).l
đź’™ The left ear is recorded in blue (left=blue). You will also see these color identifiers used to differentiate hearing aids (HA) to help identify the right from the left.
🍌 The "Speech Banana" is used as a visual to help patients better understand where speech sounds fall within the range of pitch and intensity.
Hearing loss is categorized in a range starting from mild to profound.
🦻🏻Hearing aids can be digitally shaped using natural hearing to match the specific loss.
đź‘‚Cochlear Implants bypass any residual hearing and utilize the electrodes implanted into the cochlea to provide access to sound.
