Did you know that the same embroidered logo can look different when sewn on various garments? Fabric weight, thickness, weave and content all effect how the stitches will hold up next to each other. For this reason, it is important to let us know what material we will sew when requesting an embroidery quote or placing an order. We digitize all logos for the best embroidery depending on what fabric we are sewing on.

Embroidery naturally looks better on stronger fabrics. Examples of fabrics that sew really well are caps, twill, canvas, poly denier nylon (bags and duffels) and most outerwear. Sewn logos on these fabrics generally don’t need as many underlay fill stitches to maintain the integrity of the design so your stitch counts will be lower.

Very soft or flimsy fabrics, like rayon, silk, soft pima cotton and dry fit fabrics, require a very different digitizing approach and more underlay stitches to stabilize the embroidered design.

High pile fabrics, such as fleece, sweatshirts, hoodies, polar fleece, terry cloth (beach and bath towels) and other thick fabrics hide the small detail of a custom embroidery design and therefore have to be modified to work well on those substrates. Solvy topping is used on these fabrics to help improve the look of embroidery on these challenging fabrics.

While the New England Patriots' Super Bowl Championship merchandise is flying off the shelves in New England and across the country following Sunday's big win, the same gear made for the Seattle Seahawks—in case they were victorious—will not go to waste.

This is how the Postal mess started!

The post office deficit that is driving management to commit institutional su***de by ending six-day delivery, closing half of the nation's post offices and mail-processing centers, and laying off more than 200,000 workers, is make-believe.

USPS Raises Rates, Launches Same-Day Service
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced new prices and additional services for 2013. As of January 27, the price of a first-class mail stamp will increase by one cent to 46 cents. Postcards are also facing a one-cent price increase, reaching a cost of 33 cents apiece. The USPS also said that prices for all products (mailing and shipping services) will increase by an average of 4%, but prices for regular letters and advertising matter, will increase by 2.6%.
The postal service, though, is offering a new service that will be attractive to global mailers. It will introduce a Global Forever Stamp, which will cost $1.10 and will allow customers to mail letters to anywhere in the world for the price of one stamp.
Separately, the USPS announced this week that it is trial-testing a new same-day delivery service, as it tries to capitalize on e-commerce and faster delivery needs from customers. Next month, it will launch a one-year market test for same-day delivery service in San Francisco, and target up to 10 ecommerce companies and their associated retailers. The USPS will conduct the same-day delivery testing with an experimental competitive product called Metro Post, which is a package delivery service that provides customers with same-day delivery from participating locations within a defined metropolitan area.
USPS spokesman John Friess said that packages must be picked up by 2 p.m. and they will be delivered between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friess said San Francisco was chosen as the first market test site due to the city's population density and the number of potential delivery areas. Prices for the same-day delivery service, though, have yet to be determined

"Made In USA" Labeling Influences Purchases
The vast majority of U.S. shoppers who notice a packaging claim that a product is "Made in the USA" are more likely to purchase that item, a new survey from firm Perception Research Services International (PRS) shows. According to PRS data, about 80% of U.S. consumers recognize "Made in the USA" labeling and 76% say that designation positively influences their eventual purchasing decisions.
"Whether it is for quality assurance, to boost the economy, or out of patriotism, buying American-made products is becoming quite fashionable among U.S. shoppers," says Jonathan Asher, executive vice president of PRS. "Particularly for products that are ingested such as food, beverages and medicines – if you make it here, make that clear – that is, include a 'Made in the USA' mention on your package so that shoppers are aware of that fact."
While U.S. shoppers value American-made products, PRS data shows they have generally negative feelings toward items that are labeled as "Made in China." In fact, about 57% say they are less likely to purchase products that are manufactured in the Asian country, mostly because of quality and safety concerns. Even Chinese consumers don't view "Made in China" products with great enthusiasm – just 58% are positively influenced by that labeling claim, PRS found.
Among age groups, shoppers that are over 35 years old are both the most likely to be positively influenced by "Made in the USA" claims and most likely to be negatively influenced by "Made in China" claims. Researchers aren't quite sure why young shoppers are less influenced by a product's country of origin, although they cite cost as a possible factor. Overall, considering all respondents, shoppers who view "Made in China" products positively do so because the items are less expensive, researchers say
