Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Check out the Art and Archaeology event at Seward Commons tomorrow (Saturday, 09/27) from 11AM to 2PM! There will be a whole bunch of family friendly activities including an archaeology talk about the NCC investigation at Wadaag Commons (11am to 12pm), a community painting event (12PM to 1:30PM), a community forum to help decide how to interpret the archaeology of Wadaag Commons (12PM to 1:30PM), and two opportunities to tour the new Wadaag Commons building(12PM to 12:30PM and 1:30PM to 2PM)!

Happy Minnesota Archaeology Month! In honor of this month, let's take a look back at a project NCC had the privilege to take part in last year. Thanks to the funds provided by the Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment, NCC alongside project partners were able to carry out an evaluation of the grounds of the Minnesota State Capitol where the remains of an entire neighborhood were discovered just beneath the surface! In our StoryMap, you can find out more about what it was like to conduct this investigation and take a look at the stories we dug up about the vibrant community who called this place home before the capitol mall was constructed. This was one of the most exciting projects we've ever had the privilege of working on! Happy Archaeology Month and make sure to keep an eye out for more about the archaeology NCC does as the month continues!

A huge shout out to the NCC team - it’s not often we get to see the development results our hard work leads up to! Wadaag Commons was one of our most challenging projects of the last few years with over 10,000 diagnostic artifacts and a very tight excavation schedule. The end result is a beautiful building with 80% of the units being made available to low income, multi-generational families.
