We all know cost, quality and delivery are the big players. But looking beyond the triad can reveal what really drives ex*****on: the manufacturer’s people, processes and capabilities.

Questions worth exploring:
🔹 Engineering support: How involved will they be in DFM, design changes and problem-solving before production?
🔹 Scalability: Can their processes and equipment support your project as volumes change?
🔹 Automation: Can they balance automation with the flexibility of manual or semi-automated processes?
🔹 Quality systems: What controls are in place from first article through production? How are issues identified, documented and corrected?
🔹 Supply chain: How do they handle shortages, substitutions or changing lead times?
🔹 Flexibility: Can they adapt to engineering changes, volume fluctuations or new requirements without creating unnecessary cost and delays?
🔹 Communication: Who will you work with when something changes, and how quickly will you get answers?
