⚡ DOES A COMPOSTING TOILET NEED ELECTRICITY?

Yes, but probably far less than you might expect.

Both Nature’s Head and OGO Origin use a small 12-volt ventilation fan that keeps air moving through the system. That steady airflow helps control moisture and supports proper operation. WHAT ABOUT TOILET PAPER? 🧻🚽

It is one of those questions almost everyone has when they first start looking at a composting toilet.

The good news: yes, you can use toilet paper with both Nature’s Head and OGO.

Nature’s Head says any type of toilet paper will work, although single-ply breaks down faster. OGO likewise recommends single-ply or RV/marine-grade paper for faster breakdown and better capacity. natureshead.net

The main thing to remember is that toilet paper takes up space in the solids container. The more paper that goes in, the sooner the container may need to be emptied.

Some owners put all toilet paper into the solids bin, while others choose to use a small separate waste container to stretch capacity a little longer. Nature’s Head specifically notes that both approaches are common. natureshead.net
