Happy Waste & Recycling Workers Week!

This week, we are celebrating the incredible team members who keep St. Peters clean, safe, and running smoothly every single day.

From collecting trash and recycling to operating our Material Recovery Facility, Transfer Station, and Earth Centre, supporting residents behind the scenes, and maintaining the fleet that keeps our operation moving, these dedicated individuals work through heat, cold, rain, snow, and everything in between to provide essential services to our community. Our Fleet Maintenance team plays a vital role by ensuring our trucks and vehicles are operating safely, reliably, and efficiently every day.

Their hard work, commitment, and pride in what they do often happens before most of us have started our day. We are incredibly grateful for the boots-on-the-ground employees, drivers, equipment operators, recyclers, mechanics, customer service staff, and support teams who make it all happen.

ONE YEAR OF OUR MRF!

Today marks one year since our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) began operations and we couldn't be more proud of what we've accomplished together.

A huge thank you goes out to our incredible recycling team, the boots on the ground every single day who keep this operation running. Your hard work, dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to our community has not gone unnoticed. Through every season, every challenge, and every truckload, you've helped make our recycling program a success. We are grateful for everything you do.

And to our amazing residents, thank you for embracing this program, recycling right, and taking pride in helping make St. Peters a cleaner, more sustainable community. Your efforts truly make a difference.

Here's to an amazing first year and many more to come!

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their bravery, selflessness, and dedication will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, let us also take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and remember those who gave everything for our freedom.

NOTICE: SLAB REPLACEMENT

Portions of Ecology Drive near St. Peters Recycle City are undergoing concrete slab repairs this week and next week, weather permitting. Drivers can expect lane closures and some delays during this project. Please use caution, slow down, and observe all traffic signs when traveling through the work zone.

Ecology Drive provides access from Mid Rivers Mall Drive to Recycle City, Earth Centre, and several businesses.

NOW HIRING: Transfer Station Loader Operator

The City of St. Peters is seeking a motivated, reliable, and safety-conscious individual to join our material recovery and recycling team as a Transfer Station Loader Operator.

This is a hands-on role supporting the daily operations of our new, state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and Transfer Station, helping ensure the efficient handling, sorting, and disposal of solid waste and recyclable materials.

What you’ll do:
• Operate heavy equipment
• Support daily waste and recycling processing
• Help keep facility operations running smoothly and safely

Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Rotating schedule including Saturdays and some holidays
Hours rotate between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Pay: $28.46 – $30.19/hr. (placement based on applicable experience)

We may be a little late to the game posting about International Compost Awareness Week… but that’s because we’ve been busy getting compost and mulch ready for product sales tomorrow! 🌱
