💦Water damage💦 typically comes due to roof damage, a pipe breaking or leaking, or even issues with a home appliance like an air conditioning unit or kitchen appliance water line.

☢️Mold can be a good indicator that there may be a leak somewhere☢️

Upon discovery of water damage or mold, be sure to investigate and mitigate. If you are unsure, we can help guide you! Mitigating your loss is crucial, and one of the duties you have as a policyholder after a loss occurs at your property. Mitigation is the action of reducing the severity, seriousness, or painfulness of something.

Do not file and insurance claim alone! The insurance company has their own adjuster who represents them in the claims process. Know that that adjuster works the insurance company, not you. You have the option to hire your own adjuster, a public adjuster, to represent you in the claims process to ensure you are put back to pre-loss conditions.

Meet our Licensed Public Insurance Adjuster, Derek A. Kobel, FL License . Derek is based out of the Tampa Bay area, but also licensed in Louisiana, Colorado, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Derek worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic for Pinellas County, serving numerous years and enjoyed the work he did while serving with the Fire Department. In many capacities within Pinellas County, Derek has interacted with people at their worst moments whether on-scene of fire calls, structural collapses, accidents, or during hurricane or other natural disaster evacuations and rescues.

Derek was very involved in his department. He took lead in the improvements to the departments pre-plan program, which is a system that keeps all floor plans and emergency information up-to-date and available for all involved units during emergency incidents. He was also on the department's Rapid Dive Team as a lead rescue diver on his shift. Derek served the community, educating children at local schools annually by addressing what to do in case they encounter fire, in full fire gear (PPE).

Prior to Rescued Claims and the Fire Department, Derek went into the Navy immediately following high school, as a Rescue Swimmer. Due to an injury, Derek cross-rated (transitioned) and became an Information Systems Technician on the USS Harry S. Truman, an aircraft carrier based out of Norfolk, Virginia. Derek then attended the University of South Florida, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Criminology.

Derek has multiple members of his family who have been insurance adjusters for many years, some still working in the industry. His father was an insurance adjuster for over 20 years. Derek, at times, rode along with his father and saw firsthand his father’s work as an adjuster. After learning about a Public Adjuster’s role, his father began to influence his thoughts toward becoming one.

With all the training and resources available to him, Derek truly is a tremendous individual who cares about helping others, using his skills and knowledge learned from the Navy and fire department, to better serve the public where help is truly needed the most, as a Public Adjuster.
