Yesterday’s windy trip went well with repeat client Jason and his Canadian friend Nathan who had never fished at all.
We started right off the bat with Nathan catching a small red. Then we had the attack of the ladyfish. Then Jason latches into a good one and fights it really good all the way to the net. Then we got a snook and some mangrove snapper and the bite died so we made a move. The next spot produced snook and mangrove snapper. The last spot we kept staying just a little longer since the action was great. Nathan was reeling in a real nice red but the hook pulled but we got to see it. We caught a lot of average snook so we didn’t take many photos but it was a blast to finish off the trip with plenty of action!

He caught his personal best and then he topped it!

Repeat client Ryan, his Father and his Son went out with me today. I always have a blast with them and they have been going out with me for years. Well today pretty quickly Ryan’s Dad caught a beast of a redfish and then Ryan caught his new personal best which he beat later in the trip. He also got his slam. His Son Easton was the dinner getter catching some nice keeper snapper. all in all a successful fishing day! Right now look for mullet and bait schools on the flats and redfish might not be to far behind. Scaled sardines, pinfish and cut bait will all work. Oh yeah Ryan’s big red broke him off on the mangroves at the braid and he asked if it would bite again and I told him many times yes. Well about 45 minutes later he got his redemption and caught the one that got away because it had my leader hanging out of his mouth!!!

Yesterday’s trip went really good catching snook,redfish trout and mangrove snapper. At the first spot we moved in slowly towards the mangroves not to spook any fish. The flat was teeming with life, always a good thing to see. Plenty of mullet which is always a plus. We ended up catching trout, snook, redfish and mangrove snapper and then it was time to move. The next spot we had a few snook hits but no connection but landed beautiful mangrove snapper. Then the last spot was the ticket to finish off the trip with a bang. Right off the bat first two casts produced some nice reds. Hooked into a large snook and mid fight her head came out of the water did the move and gill plated us and parted ways then we caught some more reds. John hooks into a bull red but it got back into the mangroves and broke him off it was a heart breaker. So we got the lines back out there and caught some more nice reds and boom John latches into a beast and the fight is on! After a major back and forth battle we got her into the net and John had his redemption. Great job John.

I’ve got some catching up to do on fishing reports but the snook, redfish, trout and mangrove snapper are all biting. It has been a great week except for the wind and rain. Live scaled sardines have been the ticket for me. We started off with repeat client Marcus’s son Eli catching a nice red and the competition was on lol. They caught a variety of fish but Dad’s last fish was his answer to Eli’s first! They thanked me for a great trip and we’re looking forward to booking the next one.
