Today’s tournament we caught snook, trout, redfish and mangrove snapper but lost a few large ones. Here is Guy with the largest snook that made it to the boat at 27”. They all had fun catching up with each other and enjoying a day out on the boat catching fish.

It was Carters birthday fishing trip, he turned 13. After catching bait I scouted a couple of spots before my pickup which payed off. We went for trout and mackerel and the bite at the first spot was as fast as you could get a bait in the water. After some great action with it being flat calm I couldn’t resist running out into the bay for some more trout and larger mackerel.
We had some large Mack’s cut us off but we caught some beauties and the birthday boy caught the largest of the day!
With a little bit of time left we ran in to the flats and Carter caught a small snook to end the day. They took home 4 Mack’s and a few trout for lunch. The best part was back at the dock Mom asked Carter if it was all he expected and he said way more. So hopefully we got him hooked on fishing.

Yesterday I fished a slam tournament out of the Vinoy and we caught a good amount of fish and lost a beast snook but landed a monster red. So my clients and myself were hopeful that we could possibly win the tournament. Our slam fell a couple of inches shy of first place but we were able to secure first place redfish!!!
