HIPPY is a research-based, parent involved, early learning program that works with families in the home. HIPPY supports parents in their critical role as their child’s first and most influential teachers. Program Design:
HIPPY works directly with the parent not the child. HIPPY serves parents who want educational enrichment for their three-to-five year old children. Parents spend approxi

mately 15 to 20 minutes per day, over a two- or three-year period, using the HIPPY books and activity packets. Parents are supported by home visitors from the community

Program History:
The HIPPY program was developed in Israel in 1969 as a research and demonstration project at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. HIPPY was brought to the United States in 1984 in response to the need for quality, effective early education and family support models.
