He thought it had to be bad news.

His VA decision came back faster than he expected…

and his immediate reaction was:

“There’s no way this can be good news.”

Like many Veterans, he had heard the stories.

The months of waiting.

The endless back-and-forth.

The frustration.

So when his decision arrived sooner than anticipated, he assumed the worst.

But that wasn’t the case.

His claim had been carefully prepared from the beginning. The necessary documentation had been gathered, the evidence had been organized, and every effort had been made to help the VA understand the full picture of his situation.

Every Veteran’s journey is different, and no outcome can ever be guaranteed.

But preparation matters.

Because now, he has benefits that can support him for years to come.

If uncertainty has kept you from taking that first step…

don’t let it stop you from starting the conversation.

Many Veterans hesitate to reach out because they assume that once they ask questions, they’ve already committed to filing a claim.

That isn’t how we operate.

Here’s something you might not expect us to say:

Not every Veteran who talks to us becomes a client.

And we’re okay with that.

Our role is to provide education, transparency, and guidance so you can make an informed decision about your next steps.

For some Veterans, that means moving forward.

For others, it means waiting, gathering more information, or simply gaining peace of mind from understanding their situation more clearly.

You deserve straightforward answers - not pressure.

Because understanding your options doesn’t mean you’re obligated to take action.

It just means you have the information you need to decide what’s right for you.

Your questions deserve answers. Let's talk. www.unitedveteran.com/contact-us

Serving Veterans means more than navigating benefits.

It means investing in the communities that support them.

That’s why we’re proud to spotlight Phelps for the Fort .

This dedicated committee of the Rolla Chamber of Commerce works to strengthen the relationship between Phelps County and Fort Leonard Wood by supporting military personnel and their families, advocating for initiatives that reinforce the installation’s importance, and fostering meaningful community connections.

Their impact can be seen through events like:

🇺🇸 Breakfast with the General
🇺🇸 The Memorial Day Ceremony
🇺🇸 The Salute to Valor: Veteran Appreciation Luncheon
🇺🇸 Monthly recognition of outstanding service members stationed at Fort Leonard Wood

These efforts help bridge the gap between military and civilian communities while ensuring those who serve know they are valued and supported.

Because when a community rallies around its service members, everyone is stronger.

We’re honored to support organizations making a difference right here in our own backyard.

Life changes.

Jobs change. Families grow. Health evolves.

But many Veterans never revisit the VA rating they received years ago.

Whether your circumstances have changed or you simply want to better understand where you stand, taking the time to check in can provide valuable clarity.

Because your VA rating isn’t just a number - it impacts your life.

Tag someone in the comments that needs a reminder to check their rating!

“Wait… you got 100%?”
“But I have the SAME thing!”

It’s a conversation many Veterans have had.

And it’s also one of the biggest misconceptions about VA disability ratings.

Two Veterans can have the same diagnosis and receive different ratings because the VA doesn’t evaluate the condition’s name alone.

Instead, they look at factors like:

symptom severity,

medical evidence,

treatment history,

and how that condition impacts daily life.

The diagnosis may be the same. The experience often isn’t.

If you’ve ever found yourself comparing your rating to someone else’s, you’re not alone.

Understanding that every claim is unique can help make the process a little less confusing.

📖 In our blog, we break down why two Veterans with similar conditions can receive different VA ratings -- and what factors may influence those decisions.

Another great monthly meeting for the AUSA Fort Leonard Wood - Mid MO Chapter!!

Every month our company, along with many other AUSA members, gather to hear how our chapter continues to support Soldiers, Veterans, military families, and the surrounding communities.

This month we recognized the chapter's ongoing commitment to education.

Recently, AUSA awarded seven scholarships to individuals pursuing higher education. During the meeting Ms. Beth was presented with a scholarship as she begins to pursue a degree in elementary education.

Congratulations Beth!! We wish you all the success.

Another huge topic in this month's meeting was leadership and service - recognizing our new Chapter President John Gideon!

Freddy stepped into his new role with AUSA as the Regional President. We appreciate Freddy's years of leadership and wish him continued success.

As a sustaining sponsor, UVBA is proud to support organizations that invest in our military and Veteran communities through meaningful programs and opportunities.

Whether it is helping students pursue educational goals, supporting service members and their families, or ensuring Veterans receive the recognition they have earned, the chapter continues to make a positive impact across our region.

We look forward to the many events and initiatives the chapter has planned in the months ahead

Today, on Women’s Veterans Day, we honor the women who answered the call to serve,

and those who continue serving their communities long after taking off the uniform.

At United Veteran Benefits Agency, we’re proud to work alongside women Veterans whose experiences, resilience, and dedication help shape the way we support those who have served.

Their stories are unique.

Their sacrifices are real.

Their service deserves to be recognized.

To the women Veterans on our team and across the country: thank you for your courage, your leadership, and your continued commitment to others.

We see you. We appreciate you. And today, we celebrate you.

💜 Happy Women’s Veterans Day.

Veterans don’t all have the same experiences in service.

Why would we expect them to all need the same kind of support afterward?

In this video, you’ll hear why preserving Veteran choice matters.

For some Veterans, navigating the VA disability claims process means working with a VSO.

Others choose to seek guidance from attorneys or Veteran-led organizations.

The common thread isn’t how they get help - it’s that they have the ability to choose the path that feels right for them.

At the end of the day, this conversation isn’t about organizations.

It’s about Veterans.

It’s about ensuring those who served our country continue to have access to information, resources, and support systems that meet their individual needs.

Because Veterans have earned the right to make informed decisions about their own journeys.

Take a few minutes to hear their perspectives. Their stories matter.

For many Veterans, receiving a VA decision they disagree with can be frustrating — especially when the appeals process feels difficult to understand.

The truth is, the VA offers three different appeal paths, and each one works differently depending on the circumstances of the claim.

Choosing the right path can sometimes be confusing, which is why having educated professionals who understand the system can make a significant difference.

Our team works closely with Veterans to help bring clarity to the process, explain available options, and provide guidance every step of the way.

Because no Veteran should feel like they have to navigate a complicated system alone.
