Bad News For Veterans

NVSBC Members, Supporters, and Friends,

As we absorb the devastating impact and future implications of the recent VA decisions to terminate nearly 900 VOSB and SDVOSB professional service contracts - the NVSBC recognizes the overwhelming significance of these decisions on our Veteran constituency and stakeholders.

We are tirelessly striving to gain a full appreciation of the breadth and depth of these actions and preparing for additional VA and Federal Agency actions that affect our members.

This is a trying, frustrating, and terrifying period for Veteran owned small businesses. The NVSBC leadership is committed to doing all that we can to support you in any way possible. In full transparency, many of the normal paths to influence, advocacy and support are not open right now, but rest assured we are fighting to open these paths and make every attempt to emphasize the impact and overturn these decisions. Our team is already taking steps to address future policy decisions by engaging with senior administration officials and congressional leaders. In short, the NVSBC team is working vigorously on your behalf to make your voice heard and renew your opportunities.

You are not forgotten! Keep the faith! We will continue to raise your voice in Washington and beyond.

I still lack the words to even attempt to express anything close to what would be required to provide real comfort to those affected by this tragedy…

That being said…one our brothers wrote the following:

Our last words of this world should not be stolen from us. I challenge you all to write letters to close family and friends for the day after you leave this world. That way, your words aren’t “police,” “drop the gun,” “come out with your hands up” like so many before us have said.

Write the words you want to say. Remind those closest to you of your favorite memories. Remind them how much they are loved.

Remember, together, we fight. Together, we stand. We are a force that never stops despite the attacks. We push forward with strength not known to man. We are the United States Marshals Service.
