Things only break when you REALLY need them.
On a cold morning in Wichita Falls, Texas this Cavagna regulator gave up and wouldn’t switch to the full tank. The tank hold down was broken (but mended) way back when we bought Abby in 2010 so it was time to fix that as well. I had always just planned on getting a new one from Out of Doors Mart RV but they aren’t the same company they used to be since being boughtt out by Blue Compass, to put it in nice terms.
I bought a new tank hold down bracket from Vintage Trailer Supply but it doesn’t have the integrated bracket for the regulator like the original version so I made one from some steel channel I had around the shop. I cut some plastic washers out to keep the dis-similar metal corrosion to a minimum. I went with a new made in USA Marshall regulator. I never liked the routing of the high pressure pigtails so I added 90 degree elbows to lessen the strain on them.
