It was a great day at the 2026 Oregon State University Turfgrass Field Day.

The field tour offered a look at ongoing research focused on turfgrass management, performance, playability and included NTEP trials for Perennial Ryegrass and Tall Fescue.

A big thank you to Oregon State University Turfgrass team for putting on another great field day with record attendance!

Late summer is when fall bentgrass seeding and interseeding plans start coming together. ⛳

Thursday night, Major League Baseball returns to Dyersville as the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins meet at the Field of Dreams.

Set against the cornfields, the field features 365ss® Kentucky Bluegrass. Maintained at a 1” height of cut in the outfield and 7/8” in the infield. Ready for action under the lights.

What happens to seed after it’s been harvested from the field? Here’s a look inside the seed cleaning process.

• Receiving: Trucks arrive from the field, are weighed, and unload harvested crops like Perennial Ryegrass, Tall Fescue, and Fine Fescue into separate receiving pits.

• Storage: Seed moves from the receiving pit through our air system and into storage bins until it’s ready for cleaning.

• Cleaning: Seed moves through a series of cleaning equipment designed to separate it from chaff, sticks, inert material, and other material that comes in from the field.

• Separation: Different screens and cleaning methods help separate material based on differences in size, shape, length, weight/density, and other characteristics.

• Next Step: Once cleaned, the seed moves into a clean storage bin where it’s ready for testing.

There’s a lot that happens between the field and the finished product. Up next: blending and packaging.

With much of this year’s crops now harvested, seed is making its way through cleaning and conditioning, while our warehouse team stays busy putting together orders and keeping seed moving.

Swope Memorial Golf Course officially reopened to the public. ⛳

Following an extensive renovation, one of Kansas City’s historic public golf courses is ready to welcome golfers once again.

• Reconstructed greens seeded with Centennial® Creeping Bentgrass
• Renovated tees and course improvements throughout the property
• Hats off to Superintendent Josh Linn and the entire crew as they welcome golfers back to Swope Memorial.

We’re looking forward to seeing Centennial® put to the test as golfers return to Swope Memorial.
