If by chance you are new to the area and have not ever paid membership dues or have not continued your membership for the past few years, you are probably not in our system and will not be receiving an invoice in the mail. Monday night MRFD volunteers participated in a CPR class offered through Salem Hospital. We learned how to perform CPR on adults, children and infants. Also learned how to clear an airway in case of choking. The instructors demonstrated use of the AED and instances where it would be used.

Anyone in our area that has a pond with easy excess and would give permission for us to draft water from it only during a structure fire. Please message us so we can create a location on our map. In most cases you will not see any or very little drop in your water level. Pond would have to be 24/7 access. By establishing a water source closest to a fire scene saves time with refilling tankers. Ponds that are close to roads or driveways is better for establishing a quick refill. This also save on fuel expenses since we have to go to Montauk state park to refill and it takes 30 to 45 minutes to make that round trip. Please consider our request if you can. Please message or call 573 247-9648 if you can help.

Warning!

The NWS has upgraded the storm threat for our area to a level 4 out of 5 risk. This means a greater chance for serious and very damaging storms!

There is at least a 15% we will see at least one EF2-EF3 tornado and 60% chance for EF0-EF1 tornadoes. SOFTBALL size hail and 80mph winds are possible. PLEASE make plans for these storms and know where you will seek shelter. Timelines can still change but it looks like 2-3pm and after is the most likely time.
